The official quest to go 0-16 thread

Moreover, this is my "looking forward to the #1 pick" thread, but since the two may be fairly synonymous, let's talk.

We have competition in the form of the 0-5 Bengals, the 0-4 Texans, and the 0-4 Rams.

Of the 4 winless teams, at least one will have a win by the end of the day on Oct 19 when the Lions play the Texans. The Texans will play the Bengals the following week (nice schedule).

My prediction is that Houston goes 2-0 in those games and we have both Detroit and Cincy still looking for victories. The bad news is, in looking at the schedules, I think the Rams have the inside track on 0-16.

Just look, for a minute, at the talent being wasted on offense by these teams. Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams, Carson Palmer, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson, Stephen Jackson, Torry Holt, and Andre Johnson.
We had subs. It was crazy.

This really could happen. The team has quit after game 4. I really think the Lions could do it this year!

They'll win a meaningless game near the end for sure. I'm predicting the #3 pick.

I actually think the Bengals will end up worst. They have the hardest schedule of the teams you mentioned. St Louis at least has Atlanta, SF (x2) and Miami left to play. I could see them getting 2-3 wins. Cincy has Houston, KC and the Browns (with 2 of those on the road). Everyone else is playoff caliber really.

The Lions should be big underdogs to everyone but Houston (but even that is on the road). But like I said they'll win a couple games to ruin their draft pick. I think we should be favored for #1 (even harder schedule than Cincy).

Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

Their remaining opponent's record is a combined 31-29, but I think the Jags, Colts, Saints, Packers and Vikings are all a lot better than the Lions despite their so so records.

I'm not going to get too excited until they get to 0-12 or so.

Don't want to get my hopes too high, yet.

But there's some potential for something special to happen, no doubt.

If they can just get to 0-11 for that national TV audience on Thanksgiving vs. the Titans...

I lost all emotional investment in this season when Michael Jenkins got a 60+ yd TD pass from Matt Ryan back in Week 1, so an 0-16 season, at this point, wouldn't bother me
