Hole No. 2, 2:24 p.m.: Tiger opens the Par 5 2nd hole by hitting his second straight fairway, this time using a driver. Jones again off target with his tee ball.
Jones comes up just short on his approach, but he's sitting fine in the middle of the fairway. Birdie still very possible on this short Par 5. Meanwhile, Tiger is
ON FIRE. His long iron approach from 238 yards again lands 20 feet short of the pin and releases. He has three feet for eagle.
Jones' chip is nothing special. It scoots about 10 feet by the hole, never threatening the cup. Jones is still away. If he doesn't sink this putt, he'll no doubt concede the hole.
Hole No. 1, 2:06 p.m.:
The crowd roars at the first tee as Tiger's name is announced. The world No. 1 is donning a blue polo, white hat and the familiar focus for which he's famous.
A three-wood off the first tee starts up the right side and draws in slightly for Tiger. Jones' tee shot just trickles into the second cut on the left.
If there was any doubt whether Tiger is truly back, he just answered it. An iron approach to the green lands 20 feet short of the pin and releases. He has maybe five feet for birdie. Jones' ball comes up short of the green in the bunker. He will have to get up-and-down for par.
Jones blasts out well to within a few feet, but Tiger has a putt to win the first hole. He drains it. Welcome back, Tiger.
