Homage: A Symphonic Tribute to the 2003-2004 World Champion Detroit Pistons

A while back, I said I'd have something to share with you guys. This is it!

Many of you know that I'm a composer. Consequently, I had to complete a substantial composition as part of my degree requirements. Given total freedom with the project, I chose to bridge the gap between classical music and pro sports and compose a tribute to the most recent Pistons' championship team.

Below is a video of the performance of my piece, titled "Homage: A Symphonic Tribute to the 2003-2004 World Champion Detroit Pistons." Hope you guys like it!

Note: I had to add a little bit of an intro just for the heck of it.

Note2: You guys will probably hear some elements of Pistons culture in the music. If you're curious about how the piece is a tribute to the Pistons, I'd be happy to post my program notes in this thread.

Yup, the chimes, and moreso the gong, symbolize Ben.

    And thanks.

I almost went into music composition. Instead I chose the fantastic world of web design.

How's web design working out for you? That's what I'm working on right now to go along with an e-commerce degree.

Yup. It took about two months, but I hammered out every last note.

Very cool. I do some film scoring myself, and I've been very tempted to write something to a Pistons mix just for fun. What particular field are you looking to get into once you get out of school?

I'm also majoring in music education, with an emphasis in instrumental conducting, so I hope to find my first job as an assistant director of bands at the high school level. I will definitely keep composing though, while seeking to publish works and supplement my income.
