    Two notes:

    1. The Broncos just signed Tatum Bell again.

    2. DBTM already picked him up in our fantasy league.

Alexander cut by Redskins after four games

The Washington Redskins have released running back Shaun Alexander after four games and 11 carries with the team.

The 31-year-old former league MVP had provided insurance while injuries prevented Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts from practicing.

Portis and Betts continue to battle through injuries, but the Redskins apparently felt they needed Alexander's roster spot to help with depth on the defensive line.

Defensive end Andre Carter suffered a foot injury against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12. Several other defensive linemen are also dealing with injuries.

Alexander spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Seahawks, leading the team to the Super Bowl after the 2005 season. He has 9,453 yards rushing yards and 100 career rushing touchdowns.

Alexander was looking to make a comeback after foot and wrist injuries ruined his last two seasons and prompted the Seattle Seahawks to cut him in April. However, in his limited carries with the Redskins, the 31-year-old back never showed anything close to the form that helped him rush for 1,880 yards in his 2005 MVP season.

He didn't play at all in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Seahawks, even though he was returning to the stadium where he earned his fame as well as his fortune -- in the form of an eight-year, $62 million contract signed after his MVP year.

Those punks running the NFL are trying to screw the perfect season:

NEW YORK -- Six players, including the heart of the Minnesota Vikings' stout defensive line, were suspended for four games without pay by the NFL on Tuesday for violating the league's anti-doping policy.
All six were punished for using a diuretic, which can serve as a masking agent for steroids.

The suspended players were running back Deuce McAllister and defensive linemen Charles Grant and Will Smith of New Orleans; defensive linemen Kevin and Pat Williams of Minnesota and long snapper Bryan Pittman of Houston.
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

Vikings’ Shiancoe shown on TV barely wearing towel14 hours, 46 minutes ago

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP)—Visanthe Shiancoe is having a breakout season at tight end for Minnesota. His national exposure is now at an all-time high.

Fox televised a clip of Vikings owner Zygi Wilf’s postgame locker-room speech after Sunday’s victory at Detroit, and Shiancoe was inadvertently shown naked in the background. He was wearing a towel that did little to cover him. The network apologized, but screen-grab images were all over the Internet.

Shiancoe wasn’t available to the media Monday, but he joked with a gossip columnist for the Star Tribune of Minneapolis about it. “How’d it look?” he told the newspaper.

But Shiancoe’s agent, Tony Agnone, told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that his client was embarrassed and hopes fans understand it wasn’t intentional.
