OGT: LSU vs. Ohio State (National Championship, 1/7/08, 8PM, FOX)

I don't think many people here give a rat's ass, but it deserves its own thread anyway, no?

    17-14 LSU.

I don't want to see Ohio State win because of the "Big Ten is too slow" shit because, well, MICHIGAN BEAT FLORIDA!!!!!

This is a lose/lose for me.

If OSU wins then we have to listen to all the OSU fans for years about how great Tressell is. And dear God I hate OSU fans.

If LSU wins then we get to listen to how superior the SEC is to every other conference.

Does anyone think if Tressell gets blown out, he will lose a tiny bit of credibility as a big game coach? The only National Championship that he has was given to him by an awful call. And we all remember how last year went.

I don't like Miles anymore either. A win for me would be if it goes down as the shitiest game in history.

I don't care who wins to be honest. The whole SEC speed thing is blown way out of proportion anyway. If OSU is going to win, they have to do what Michigan did to Florida, attack the QB (which OSU is more than capable of doing), and throw different looks at their defense...

Ohio State can win this game, but I just don't think they will.

OSU didn't impress me much this year. They didn't exactly "dominate" Michigan, they lost a big game Vs. Illinois when a TON was on the line. And they really only got to the NC game due to luck.

LSU has way more talent on both sides of the ball, they are a faster team (cliche' but true), and I think Todd Boeckman will make some mistakes that will cost OSU the game...

I don't give a fuck about SEC Vs Big Ten anymore, because UM will win the next 12 national championships. Pryor is going to OSU anyway, so they'll be great for the next three or four years (But they'll be Rich Rod's BITCH also, and then they'll whip the other SEC teams in the Cap 1 Bowl).
BUT, this is the kind of game Jim Tressel: BadAss wins. LSU has nothing to surprise him with, as Les emptied out the trick bag and the fourth down plays just to get here.
OSU's defense matches up well against this team. Early Ducette is still hurt, I believe. JEsse Hester? He's no Blake Ezor. Matt Flynn is hurting, and Perilloux is just a little frosh.
This is a team that Jim Tressel: BadAss can prepare for, and I think the Buckeyes win it 33-24.
Winning breeds confidence. Losing breeds reality.

Is Jim Tressel really that good of a coach??

If he loses today, you have to question how great he really is...

Tonight will speak volume on how "great" he really is...

Most of those players that won it all in '02, were not even his recruits...
