I'm in the middle of "The Reason Why" its the biographical-history on what lead to the disasterous charge of the light brigade in the Alfred Lord Tenison poem (Cannons to the left of them. I've enjoyed it. Its more sociology and political history though. Not war strategy.

The Light and Heavy Brigades of the British Crimean War are national military heroes, like the ANZACs are to the Australians and the Green Berets to the US. But the Light Brigade were a bunch of saps who were foolishly ordered into an unwinnable battle by clueless upper-crusters. You'd think a group of guys who won a battle or something would be the heroes, instead of a bunch of guys who got fragged in record time.

im reading "iv" by chuck klosterman. actually, im not really reading anything. i read about 200 pgs of it in one sitting, but may never pick it up again. i also have to finish up the last 50 or so pages of 'a tale of two cities', that i would like to finish, but havent touched in months.

there is a ton of non fiction i want to read. stuff on financials and trading, other thinks just for interest, and also i got romeo and juliet (pretty much the only main shakespeare i havent read). one of my goals this year is to actually read more than once every 6 months.

D's - you'd probably love Steven Ambrose stuff. I have a buddy who was a huge military history nut and he read all of Ambrose's stuff. He couldn't get enough of it.
