    Currently reading........

In an ode to our other threads I thought I would start something along these lines. My New Years resolution is to read a book a month.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I prefer non-fiction so I at least learn something and gain knowledge. Also books on war, strategy, history, stuff like that would intrigue me as well.

The last book I read was called "A Warrior Elite" and it was about a man who went through the Navy SEALS training like 40 years ago and then went back to see others do it in present time. Pretty interesting.

    Famous Bill Walton quotes:

"Shaq's arrogance is an insult to people who think."

Bill: "What, Phoenix? Are they still paying you?"
    Jalen: "Yeah, under the table."
Bill: "Yeah, just like at Michigan."

“Oh my, Kobe is really putting on a show out there. He’s making Ray Allen look like a sixth grader!”

I'm with you on preferring non-fiction.

I'm in the middle of "The Reason Why" its the biographical-history on what lead to the disasterous charge of the light brigade in the Alfred Lord Tenison poem (Cannons to the left of them. Cannons to the right of them. Cannons in front of them ...). http://www.amazon.com/Reason-Why-Sto.../dp/0140012788

I've enjoyed it. Its more sociology and political history though. Not war strategy.

I'm reading the book "Married To The Mouse". I bought it on Amazon about 2 years ago, it talks about the inner-workings on Disney World. And the agreements and perks the city of Orlando granted Disney to stay in Florida.

Pretty interesting stuff, Disney can pretty much call it's own shots, make it's own demands, and operate any way they want. And with the money they bring to the city of Orlando, theres nothing they (the city) can do about it.

Disney is pretty much it's own country.

I enjoy Robert Ludlum's books (think Bourne Identity, etc).

I've read some good WII non-fiction books, but I couldn't tell you their names now.

Right now I am reading the Chamber (John Grisham). I've also read the Last Juror and the Broker by him. I like his novels.
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fuckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.

I've been reading "Cash" for about 6 years now.

That's what having a bunch of kids will do for your free time, Swami.

I also just acquired a copy of the 1994-95 Official CBA Guide and Register, titled "League of Dreams".

    This is pre-Isiah, of course.

Cover photo is of John Starks, Harold Ellis and Chris Jent
