Anyone ever used iSCSI and/or more specifically, as an initiator in freenas? Really struggling to get something working and I don't have enough experience with Unix/Linux based systems to figure it out.

Can't help, but great idea for a thread!

Yeah I've gone back to that through google at least 4-5 times haha. The initiator's installed, I think at least, but every time I try to set it and connect to my target that's on a Win 2008 server, I get a CRC error on the freenas machine. I'll try to post the exact line when I get chance but I won't be back there till Monday.
There are tons of resources for setting up Freenas (7.2) as an iscsi target around but I can find very little documentation on it being used as the initiator. I'm not sure if that's just because it's such a simple concept that nobody would bother writing a guide and I'm just doing something stupid or if it's because it's not really supported and doesn't really work right.
Eventually, we'll basically be trying to use the freenas box to scoop LUNs from like 4 different Windows servers and combine them with hard drive space on the Freenas server to make one logical drive using Freenas's GFS system and then share that drive across a domain. Sounds good in theory but I can't make it work.
Uxka will take care of it when he gets the time.

lol, I actually need this now
using Vista and no sound, speakers stopped working
ran MS Fix It and it detected two problems with the drivers, but when I choose to have it repaired, the problem persists
sound worked yesterday, cables are all attached, I can see the volume bar bouncing up and down, but no sound
Start>Right Click On "Computer">Pick "Device Manager" on Left>Find "Sound, Video And Game Controllers" and expand it> Pick the one for your sound, mine says "High Definition Audio Device" but yours might be different; Right click on it>From here you can try a few things:
1. "Update Driver Software"...Can't hurt to try but often doesn't work...
2. If 1 doesn't work, you can pick "Uninstall" and then go to the top where your computer name is listed (will be different depending on what you named the comp, should be top line). Right click on the name and pick "Scan for hardware changes." Windows should automatically find and re-install your sound.
If neither of those work you can find the driver at the manufacturer's website usually. Play around in "Properties" of the sound on device manager to find the model name/whatever.
thanks, went to mfg site and found the driver and works now
don't know why the fack that happened, but It Happened
Thanks, Tech Talk!

Anybody have any suggestions for removing Babylon search browser hijack?
I've tried MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware and it's still here.
I had the same prob a few months ago and thought I got it, but it must've just been laying low.
Didn't know they still had browser hijackers? Haven't had to deal with one in a few years, figured Vista/Seven were safe. YOu probably have to clear it out of your registry, not sure if you're comfortable doing that.
Yeah, this is on my son's cpu (Vista). He downloads games pretty liberally and must have gotten into something here. Might have to call in reinforcements. Thx.
Sounds like a good reason to reload the box with Windows 7...

Anyone know how to access a Yahoo! Groups calendar via CalDAV?
Anyone know if there's an RSS feed that includes Grantland print articles?
They did some kind of revamp and now all their RSS has are their podcasts.
Grantland finally fixed their shit.

Finally caught up with the times (some) this weekend. Moved up to iPhone 5s and bought a blu ray player.

You should have waited until September when the iPhone 6 came out...
It was a calculated move, I like to be one generation behind.
Got our 5s' at Best Buy for $1 w/new contract.
I don't need the latest/greatest.
I have the 4s and usually wait every 2 years so thats why I'm getting the 6 in the fall. Plus the rumor is that it will have a bigger screen so I want that too.
So far I see a huge difference in speed and screen clarity (retina) on 5s vs. 4.
Now I just have to not break it before the case I ordered online arrives later this week.
I'm being like OCD-careful right now with it.
If I heard correctly, the 6 will have two screen size choices, one of them being oversized, as you mentioned.
I don't think I want a larger phone screen, that's whay I have an ipad.
I need physical keyboard buttons, and still wish Blackberry were a viable product.
My hands are incompatible with fast touch typing, and not for lack of trying.
Too bad you can't get the Ryan Seacrest "makeyour iphone keyboard a blackberry keyboard" phone case anymore.
Looks like you can still find them...

I agree with DrRay.
Just picked up a Samsung note 2014 tablet. This thing is incredible. Highly recommended.
