i knew he had a lot of loot, but i was thinking hundreds of millions...
3.5 billion and he wont pay the fucking luxury tax.
ps: that list is well worth exploring. i think i could spend days looking through it.

I hate when people say things like that. He got that rich by make good business decisions, not by paying the luxury tax to keep overpaid bench players that usually had no impact on the game.

In 1 1/2 years we'll be able to put this topic to rest... if one of the starters is moved for an expiring, then we'll know Mr D won't pass the threshold.
I don't think going over the hard cap means your team will fail like the Knicks.... most of the teams going over the Lux cap have had excessive player turn over... no stability on the roster.
The new CBA reduces the penalty (negligent teams share the distribution).
For a veteran team in contention the hard cap should not be used as an excuse to move your core.
A couple years ago we got stuck losing the lux tax distribution by some miscalculations on the BRI.... we went over the threshold by approximately Darvin Ham's salary (one expensive scrub).... I'm sure that chaffed Mr. D's ass... So Joe has to be a little more careful...
At least they know the cap before the year starts now.
