I hate Stern, but what was he supposed to say? He was being his typical PC self.
PC=Pussy Commish
Not Durant is out for the season again.
I think this years rookie of the year isn't so obvious.
Evans is playing great, and his teams record is easily better than expected with Evans running the team while MArtin's out. In terms of stats and record, Evans has the edge over Jennings.
Jennings has number and had the Bucks to a great start to the year. If he can improve his shooting %'s and play consistently, he's still in the hunt. He was just killing it earlier.
Add an injured Blake Griffin who will come back for the 2nd half of the year, he's bound to do great things for the struggling clips.

DALLAS (AP) -- Dallas Mavericks forward Tim Thomas was at a Dallas restaurant when a fight broke out early Wednesday during a dispute between him and another patron.
Damien Pettie, 29, told police he approached Thomas and a group of people at a Denny's at about 3 a.m. and said, "Hey, what's up?" to the 6-foot-10 player.
Thomas responded by cursing at Pettie and using racial and gay slurs, according to the police report. Pettie cursed back, at which point he said he was struck twice in the face by someone in Thomas' group.
"Then all parties within both groups began to throw chairs, knock over tables and fight each other," the report said. The fight broke up when the store manager announced he had called police. Thomas and his group left before officers arrived.
No one was arrested, and it was unclear whether police planned to pursue the case.
In an e-mail, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said the 32-year-old Thomas was there but not involved in the incident.
Pettie sustained cuts on his lower lip and a finger, according to the police report. A working telephone number for him could not be located Wednesday.
One witness, Colleen Kissick, told The Associated Press she didn't hear Thomas say anything before the fight. Another witness, reporter Roger Emrich of KRLD radio, said on the air that he heard Thomas say only, "Just keep going" to Pettie.
Kissick said her mother was hit by one of the chairs or tables as they dined. Kissick said she never saw Thomas involved in any fighting, but added that she didn't think Pettie did anything to instigate the fight.

NBA ticket revenue slides 7.4 percent (UPDATE) - CBSSports.com
Quote:
Average paid attendance is down 3.7 percent in the NBA through the first quarter of the regular season, sending gate receipts plummeting 7.4 percent, according to league documents obtained by CBSSports.com.
Net gate receipts, the money teams make from ticket sales, fell to an average of $828,985 per game, down from $894,823 at the same point last season. Only nine teams were up or flat in average net gate receipts through Nov. 29, while 21 teams saw a decline.
[…] The hardest-hit franchise so far is the Detroit Pistons, whose net average gate receipts are down a staggering 42.8 percent year-over-year, according to the figures reported by teams to the league office. The Pistons made an average of $537,263 per game on ticket sales through their first eight home games, down from $938,833 at the same point last season. The Pistons, located in the epicenter of joblessness, have seen paid attendance slip 22 percent, to 14,821 from 18,993 in the first month of 2008-09.

Pistons 4th most valuable team. Zero debt.
Cavs 5th most valuable -- doesn't Forbes know LeBron is a FA this year??
Rashard Lewis refused to go back into a game last night with 6 mins left in the 2nd quarter. Something to keep an eye on.
Why did he refuse?
I'm sure it's his highly elevated testosterone levels. :)
I bet the play called for him to go to the post.
"He had 2 fouls."
Von Wafer is coming back from Europe to sign with the Grizzlies.
Shaq retires.
WTF?

I've worked some weird hours/shifts in my time but I have never, ever, EVA been out dining at 3am.
I might stop and grab a burger - but actually dine?
No. NEVER
It's Denny's. It's not dining.

Bender back after 3-year absence
Associated Press
NEW YORK -- The New York Knicks have signed free agent Jonathan Bender, marking the oft-injured forward's return to the NBA after a three-year absence.
Knicks president Donnie Walsh announced the move in a statement Sunday.
The 7-foot Bender enjoyed his best season in 2001-02, when he averaged career highs of 7.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 78 games.
But injuries forced Bender to miss 172 games over the next three seasons before chronic knee pain sidelined him indefinitely in February 2006.
Bender was selected out of high school by Toronto with the fifth overall pick in the 1999 draft and was acquired by Indiana in a trade on Aug. 1, 1999. He formed a relationship with former Pacers president Walsh during their time together in Indiana.
"Jonathan has worked extremely hard in preparing himself for a return to the NBA," Walsh said in the statement. "I know him to be a young man of the highest character from my relationship with him that dates back 10 years to his rookie year and I think he will be a fine addition to our team both on and off the court."
Bender is back
Walsh can't let that kid go.
I thought that was an Onion article until I saw Mxy didn't post it. WTF?

Charles Barkley hosting Saturday Night Live
Basketball great Charles Barkley will host the first “Saturday Night Live” of the year, Jan. 9, the show announced over the weekend. The last time he hosted was 1993, when the musical guest was Nirvana. — NY Post
This is a rumor but the guy who nailed the Carlisle firing says Wilson is traveling with the team (that part has been reported by that sycophant Elie) looking for job opportunities because he thinks Mrs. D is a bitch (that's the rumor).
From the DSR.
They may as well cut his ass now. No point giving PT to a guy that says he certainly won't be there. Not when you aren't a playoff team with him.Quote:

The Kings come back from a 35-point second-half deficit to beat the Bulls in Chicago. It almost makes me wish I cared about either team enough to have watched it.
