Apparently there is a Sheed/Tyson Chandler trade rumor floating around. I don't have time to source it, though.

Well, if this is the original source, then there's probably not much, if anything, to this.

Chandler would probably fit nicely with Bosh. I'd say we'd be missing Sheed's post scoring, but...
Why would LA trade Gordon and Kamen for VC? That makes no sense at all. They'd be back down to #1 pick range when Camby and VC get hurt/retire.Quote:

They would miss that range, but how many teams have won with a 3 point shooting big man? Besides the Pistons in 2004, I can't think of one in the last 15 years.Quote:

Bulls x 6 (nope)
Rockets x 2 (nope)
You could maybe argue Horry, but that's it and he's just a role player who only shot a couple threes a game. He also complimented post players by creating space for them. We don't have TD or Shaq down there, which is why we don't need Sheed floating all the time. BTW, Sheed shoots more than twice the 3's Horry did.
Tony Kukoc for the Bulls.
I suppose so, but on those teams only half his minutes were even at the 4 spot (after the minutes of Rodman, Longley, Wennington, Salley, Edwards, Caffey and Simpkins are subtracted from the total 4/5 spots).
So he was half SF, half PF. I don't consider that a big man.
The Heat had Fattoine Walker, if that counts.Quote:

Big Shit Bob played 30+ mpg and shot 4+ threes/game when the Rockets won in 94-95. Of course, compared to Olajuwon, everyone else on those Houston teams was a role player. ;)Quote:

Sheed would be great next to a post player, but he's stretching the floor for nobody because everyone else (besides Stuckey and AI) stand out there chucking too.
And when he's chucking from outside, he's not rebounding, either.
When 'Sheed is chucking from outside, it opens up the lane for Stuckey and AI. It also allows Tay to get on the low block and take his sweeping hooks. I'm not defending the strategy of 'Sheed chucking 10 threes per game, but five per game would be great, in my opinion.
That would be fine if it were just about how many he actually takes, but what about all the time that he spends out there when he's not shooting? Granted, currently that isn't much time at all, since he's not really concerned with how many he's taking right now.Quote:

Well, with the small ball lineup, I agree that his threes are a bit out of control. But with Amir and Tay crashing the boards in the "big ball" lineup, its not AS much of a problem if he's out on the line.Quote:

I was just joking about getting the thread back on topic.

Given what we know today, here are five attractive trading partners for the Thunder.
→Detroit: Arron Afflalo and Amir Johnson are young players who fill two pressing needs for the Thunder on the wing and in the post. The Pistons are high on Johnson, but the Thunder could sweeten the deal with a future draft pick.
Earl Watson here we come.

Those Bulls teams were super dysfunctional. Chandler plays hard.
How would that affect our cap situation in the coming years?
I'm cool with Chandler next to say Bosh. Not comfortable with him paired with just Amir/Max and whatever vets are here (Dyess/Sheed) down the road.
Right, Chandler is essentially Amir with lifts.
Chandler/Bosh with Amir/Dyess off the bench would be really nice.
Suppose we did Sheed for Chandler and RIP/Max for Smith/Wilkins/Watson and OK's #1.
Then take Stephon Curry with the pick
That's a pretty solid 2 deep rotation:
PG Stuckey/Watson
SG Curry/AA
SF Tay/Wilkins
PF Bosh/Dyess
C Chandler/Amir
Stephon Curry with a top 4 pick? I bet there's a better option out there. I do like the look of that lineup though, although have we really seen much of Amir at C? He just seems like more of an athletic PF
Well, they are only 4 games out of 5th worst and another 4 games from being 9th worst. No way to tell where that pick would be (RIP would certainly improve that team a lot).
Also, no way to tell where the prospects rank at this point. Suppose Curry carries his team far in the tourney again. He might end up a top 5 pick.
At any rate, you can plug the best SG available in at that pick if we made those moves.
Not a trade rumor, but Austin Croshere was bought out, and someone on MLive (I know, probably not trustworthy) claims that we've signed him and that a trade is in the works involving a big man -- that's where the "rumor" part comes in.
Say it ain't so, Joe!
The Celtics may want him, by some indications:

Either Veal Scalabrine could use a friend, or Croshere is some kind of side dish.Quote:

From Zeblocksports on Sirius Satellite Radio:
Reportedly the Suns have offered Amare/Barbosa/Tucker for Sheed/Prince/Afflalo.
I don't have a link unfortunately, because it was on the radio. I did find the same thing on the suns board that i post on.
personally, I think it puts Phoenix in absolute win-now mode (as if the Shaq for Marion trade didn't already). It does improve their pick and roll defense with Sheed. Also, prince brings some nice perimeter defense. Both carry finals experience. Afflalo is a nice piece to build around in the future. They'd have somewhat of a logjam on the wings with Hill/Barnes/Prince/Richardson/Afflalo all looking for minutes. They also lose the closest thing they have to a backup pg in Barbosa.
For Detroit, their offense becomes a lot scarier. They also look a little better for the future, as Amare and Barbosa are both pretty young. barbosa/Hamilton off the bench would be something to worry about, no doubt. They would rely a lot on McDyess defensively. Also, i have no clue what they'd plan to do at SF. With afflalo and Prince gone, Herman is the only SF left on the roster. Tucker is more of a SG, and he has been a bench warmer/d-leaguer his whole career. That's the only reason i question the trade.
Anyway, take that for what it's worth. BTW, Phoenix is the team that reportedly offered the trade.
that makes us even smaller. Barbosa, AI and Stuckey? Plus RIP has to play SF full time. That deal would have to change RIP for Tay.
We trade our defense for their offense.
I wouldn't hit it.

Essentially, they are buying Prince for Amare here and as crazy as it might sound I don't know if I like the idea of selling Tay for Amare.
