The Rockets are on there? Really?
They're 8/1, the Spurs are 20/1 and the Pistons are 14/1, yet you don't question them?
The Spurs have a history of pulling things together and this is a Pistons board, there would be a virtual riot if they weren't on there. I don't think the Pistons are winning it all, nor do I think the Spurs could get past the Lakers.
I attempted to provide a pleasing palette of championship choices for the group. Now, you can play along or sulk about the selection process.
WHICH WILL IT BE?
I'm still debating. I haven't actually seen the Lakers play with Bynum and Gasol together yet and I'm not sure how good Boston's bench is now that Posey is gone.
I think, as of right now, it's 90% likely that we get Celtics/Lakers again.
The other 10% of me thinks Celtics/Hornets.
Barring major injury, I don't see anyone beating the Celtics this year in a best of 7.
I think the Lakers get it done this year. No holes, and if Odom keeps being a team guy off the bench they are in great shape. Nobody else has a weapon like him off the bench (unless they are playing a starter off the bench like Manu).
Can I reserve the right to pass judgment at this point, or is the "One month into the season" part grounds to give a somewhat undecided pick?
If so, I'll roll with the Hornets, mostly because I couldn't stand to see anyone else win it. Also, I think they have a lot of growth potential, while Boston, Cleveland, and even LA to some extent, are what they are, IMO. Maybe LA has some room to grow with Bynum and Gasol together.
I think "we" are a really big question mark at this point. No doubt there is a lot of championship potential -- our starting five could be electric, and our bench, of late, is the best in the league, IMO.
If you're voting Pistons, you're a stone cold dope.
We could win it. Unfortunately this team is not playing well. I think we have more talent than last year and we had enough to win it then too.

I still like the trade, I just wish that it was made during the offseason.
ECF, at best, for "us".
didn't you know, the pistons signed me to a 10 day contract.
My vote unfortunately goes to Boston. It seems like they're winning without even trying.
ISWYDT, Herm.
I wish I had thought of it first.
Why do you think it was even in there?
They're 20:1 forchrissakes.
Because I thought of it first?Quote:

Pistons, and stop whining.
I voted Pistons because I felt someone had to, even if i don't believe it.

Now I have, not for the Cavs, that's for sure. There's no way they're getting past Bostonl
So do you three (Herm, Fool & Wil) like the looks of your championship calibre Spurs still?
yes. getting healthy. Hill looks nice.
I thought it was the Lakers last year and I still like them to win it all. I will however continue to indulge myself in the fantasy of a pistons-lakers finals.
The Lakers are starting to sway my opinion on this.
They lose their big man and then go 6-0 on a six game road trip, winning at Boston and Cleveland in there.
Boston had that swoon a few weeks ago and just lost 2 games in a row at home.
As we close in on the break, the Lakers look like to team to beat now, IMO.
I'm sticking with my Lakers pick.
