Any thoughts on team needs?
Any names come to mind?
I've already thrown out Pat Ewing Jr and Lindsey Hunter (partially joking about that one).

Dyess is supposedly being bought out so he could come back...
I think the trade eats up the last little bit of room we had under the tax so I could see us carrying 14 or 13.
ESPN last week said we were $2,134,722 under the tax threshhold.
Subtract Chauncy's $11,050,000 and Dyess' $6,813,050 and Samb's $797,581 and add AI's $20,840,000 and we appear to be $44,000 over the threshhold. I bet they pro-rate it and it leaves us just under the threshold but that probably means we can't really add anyone else unless we're dropping more salary.
Some of these numbers could be wrong (hoopshype claims AI gets $21.9 this year, which would make it worse) but I bet it'll definitely be a factor in adding veterans down the stretch.
I think that you can sign players to the vets minimum and their salaries don't count towards the tax, but I'm not 100% on that.
I'll keep my phone on and my gym shorts out.
I was gonna say Quinton Ross, but Memphis apparently re-signed him after cutting him.
Damon Stoudamire or Eddie Jones?
I say we cross that bridge when we come to it.
Oh, hells yeah.
I don't know for sure either but I thought that was just for going over the cap, not the luxury tax. We need Bstein or somebody.Quote:

Hey, at least Stuckey will get extra practice time when AI doesn't show up!
Yay Chris! AI will affect Stuckey's development positively after all.
practice..we talking about practice..not the gameQuote:

Looks like our depth chart is now:
Iverson/Stuckey/Bynum
Hamilton/Afflalo/Acker
Prince/Hermann/Sharpe
Johnson/Maxiell
Wallace/Brown
It would appear that we need to sign another center (since both Hermann and Sharpe are capable of playing PF, and Tayshaun also could in a pinch), McDyess or not.
PJ Brown, Juwan Howard, Aaron Williams, Alonzo Mourning (not happening), Dikembe Mutombo (also not happening), Michael Doleac, and Scot Pollard are all available.
Any of them could be injury/foul insurance as a 6th big man.
Of course, if there were any injury to the backcourt I would immediately sign another backup PG. I cringe at the thought of either Bynum or Acker playing minutes there.
Bynum has been playing really good, imo.
Bynam is the best #3 PG we've had since Dana Barros 7 years ago. I'm very happy with him.
Same here. He can get in the lane with ease, but his defense needs a lot of work. He's got quick hands there but needs to stay in front of his man, fight through screens better, etc... Well, from the one game I saw so far (last night).
thread title changed
Bynum didn't do anything for me in the pre-season, which should have been the easiest time for him to impress me. I was surprised when he got a contract offer.
Then again, I haven't seen a full game this season because of school :-/ Perhaps I'm missing something.
Bynum has looked VERY strong
Yeah, I haven't caught any of the games with Stuckey starting and Bynum being the primary backup.
and I have to miss today's game to go to frat chapter! ugh.
I have a fraternity meeting today at 6:40 so i'll miss most of the game.Quote:

I'll sign for the MLE.
Yea, I have a lil bit of a hard time feeling sorry for someone making 5 mil a year playing basketball.

Desmond (Round Rock, Texas): With Cheikh Samb gone, Detroit has a free roster spot. Any chance of Ronald Dupree returning to regain his fabled 15th roster spot? He is my favorite Pistons benchwarmer.
Langlois: I would think that’s unlikely, given the makeup of the team, Desmond. The Pistons have three small forwards now in Tayshaun Prince, Walter Herrmann and Walter Sharpe, plus Rip Hamilton and Arron Afflalo can play there. The Iverson trade meant they went from six big men to four, so I would expect them to look to add a solid big man with the 14th roster spot and probably keep the 15th spot open until later in the season, at least.
Why is the first response from the type of fans that email this guy always to return to a dude we've let go. Do people get that attached to scrubs?
It won't take long for teams to find out that Bynum doesn't pass... Flip Murray syndrome
Ha. I was a "bro" for Halloween.Quote:

Bonzi Wells
Bonzi Wells would force Sharpe to the DLeague, which is a good thing. But what about Hermann? Is he full-time PF now, or just out of the rotation? Or does he beat out Bonzi?
I'm not exactly sold on Hermann like a lot of fanboys. It'd be nice to have a decent scorer & rebounder behind him for when he legitimately starts sucking.Quote:

Same here. Backwards upside down visor, popped collared hollister shirt borrowed from my roommate that actually is a bro, jeans with the pre-ruffed up holes. Everyone kept asking if I went as my roommate and he got pissed.Quote:
