How many of you have actually played organized football? Little league, high school, college, anything.

How many of you have actually played organized football? Little league, high school, college, anything.
as tempted as I am to answer your question, I'd like to know why this really matters.
How many announcers have played the sport they announce? How many sports columnists have?
This matters because we can't cheer for a sport that we haven't played.
Obviously bukdow is allowed to because on top of his two degrees, he was All-State in basketball, baseball and football, and set every school record in his field events. You can currently see bukdow at the local gym shoulder pressing 300 lbs while riding the stationary bike at the highest level. He joined the swimming team but got kicked off due to the fact that he can walk on water, and coaches felt that would be unfair to competition.
OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHNOOOOOOOOOO my life is now in shambles!!! Bukdow has called me out in my tenuous connections with Michigan and now he has ruined me as a football fan alltogether. Fine.....everybody should hear this.....I didn't play the game and therefore I don't know shit about it. I'm glad that you all know now. I can finally stop pretending to know what those guys running around on the court(?) are doing.
My only question is what do I do now? I played some mean soccer as a kid but I didn't go to Real Madrid so how can root for them? Somebody find me a gun!
SWATTHISSHIT
This is too good to swat. I can't wait to hear how good bucky was at all of the sports he plays, while maintaining a 4.0 average.
I agree, this is going to be good.
Nothing special. I started playing little league football when I was 10 and played through high school. However, I was better than average. I played varsity football from 9th grade on then a Class B team, now Division 3, and was a pretty good long jumper, my best jump was 20' 8" and did go to the State meet. Nothing special, but nothing to sneeze at either.
Now, onto the UM fans. You didn`t go to the school, you have never played organized football yet you are UM football fans. I`m sure it means nothing to people like you, but in reality, thats about as spineless and bandwagon as it gets. Truly, you people are THE watermark for clueless hanger-onners.
I played HS tennis and golf, so I suppose that is all I can watch or be a fan of?
Go *insert high school golf team of choice here*!!
The stadiums would be empty and the games would have about as many viewers as the NHL does using your criteria, buk.
But I think you know that, don't you?
random thought...
bukdow = DJBuck?
[smilie=arrgh.jpg]
oh my god he's right......and I've been thinking about this some more.....I love to golf but Phil Mickelson's not my Dad so there goes that rooting interest. I can never watch the Olympics again, or any Iron-Mans'.....there is just no connection for me anywhere!
I have one question, buk: Why is this directed only at U of M fans? Are State fans exempt? I'm just wondering about your criteria here.
I've played Rep Hockey since i was 7 years old
I played Rep Baseball until I was 18
I played Golf and ran XCountry in High School
GO KZOO

Yeah, it's crazy that Bettman put hockey teams in Arizona, Florida (twice), Dallas, LA (tiwce), Atlanta, etc when most of those fans probably have never played hockey. What a moron, he should have consulted Bukdow.Quote:

Notice he never answered my question about reporters or columnists.
Also, Bukdow better never comment on how this board is run since he probably never ran a sports message board before.
Also, we can never rank hottest women, or even be a fan of women since we were never women ourselves.
i think you guys are missing his point. hes not saying you cant watch football, its just your not as true a fan as he is, for the simple fact that he has played football.
just like he's smarter than everyone because he has 2 made up degrees, regardless of all the stupid shit hes constantly saying.
So I guess everyone who cheers for MSU actually played the sport? Wow, I have a new found respect for all MSU fans that they only cheer for sports they played.
You can be the greatest athlete, you can be the smartest person in the world, you be the best looking person in the world, but when all you post is hate and stuff with very little substance, well that is not somebody I would want to strive to be no matter how much talent and looks were given to me.
I would rather be a Wal-Mart fan who never played the game (actually I played a little college ball, does that mean I am more of a fan than Budkow?) than to be a self centered person who must hate his life to post such worthles shit day in and day out.
I actually played college basketball and baseball, but it was only for a Division II school so I can't cheer for any program higher than that. Not even Division IAA.
I also only played one year of high school football, which obviously means I cannot possibly understand what is going on in a football game. I just see a bunch of guys in jerseys running around hitting each other. Fortunately for me I learned to count and spell in my teenage years so I can look up at the top of the screen and see the score. If the team named "MICH" has a higher number than the other name on the screen, I can talk shit. If it's lower, I break down and cry. I also usually mute it because when they start combining big words like "Inside Linebacker" and saying terms like "blitz", my mind gets all gooey and I get headaches.
I can't believe that just because I played football (started all 42 games I ever played), made an all-conference team and went to the state tournament in the discus that I am now officially the best Wolverine fan on here. I'm guessing that all of my fellow Wolverines have to bow down to my atheltic excellence. I also have a college degree so I'm just climbing up the rankings.
However, I'm kinda pissed I can't watch any Michigan basketball games anymore and I'm not allowed to follow my Pistons because I didn't grow up in Detroit.
Maybe we could get a thread going where all the Wolverines get together and discuss the sports they are allowed to talk about. I'll fill you guys in on football, Mood can handle basketball, Glenn has Tennis, Wizzle can handle golf. Oh sh!t, I don't know if we have any gymnasts or hockey players on here. We better hurry up and recruit some more Wal-Mart Wolverines.
BTW, I've called the BTN and let them know not to show any football games at Wizzle's house because he didn't play so don't worry buk.
I played hockey as a kid. Never played in HS just rec teams.
Filly unless you can beat DII which is seems a couple of us have played football at....you are not the head football man..:)
im surprised that tenuous at best hasnt been used in every post, let alone in any post.
is there no cogency in this world anymore?!?!
Great stuff. Luckily we can't see your head spinning on here. We all posted with the assumption of being true fans until Bukdow called us out and ruined our cover.Quote:

Sorry filly, that's my area of expertise
actually, we all should have seen this coming a mile away.
every knows how insecure buckdown is. its not enough that he roots for msu, he actually went there (WOW!). dont base your opinion of his intelligence on his actual words, base it on his two made up degrees from msu (double WOW!!). so the fact that he doesnt want his understanding of football based on his observations, but on the fact that he's played organized football (wow! wow! WOW!!) fits right in line w/ his mamoth inferiority complex.
^exactly.

Thanks to Bukdow, I think like %5 of our posts on here this week have to do with actual sports news.
I better not find any of you posers in the drugs thread.
The fact of the matter is, if MSU was the dominant program the last 20 years, you UM douchebags would be MSU fans. Its not about being a loyal fan to a university, its about you pussies wanting to feel like a winner. On top of having no allegiance to UM, but only winning, many of you have never even played football. So, you don`t appreciate what it takes to win on the football field, you just want to win. Thus, you are UM fans.
Truly, you people are about as gutless and bandwagon as any Yankee, Laker or Patriot fan who lives in Peoria, you just want to back a winner. And due to the fact you have no connection to the school and little to no understanding of the game, you suck even worse.

You are a fucking douche, who is widely agreed upon of being a doofus. Your logic is SO flawed in every degree, and you just keep bringing up this idiotic argument. Don't you find it strange that not one of your sparty breathren have backed you up during your whole Wal-Mart Wolverine musings? I, like 95 percent of UM fans, am a Michigan fan because A, I live in Michigan, B, My Dad liked Michigan. It is a simple as that. The argument about Yankee/Pats/Lakers fan is so completely off based and could only be applied if we had a thread dedicated to USC, full of Michigan people. Just let it go.
By being an MSU fan, even though you didn`t go there, you aren`t just blindly backing the winner. You understand, and expect, ups and downs. The UM "fans" demand winning and will accept nothing less than NCs. Why? Because the only reason they back UM is because they generally win.Quote:

I was a Red Wing fan when it wasnt popular to be a RW fan back in the late 70s/early 80s; still am. I was a Piston fan for as long as a RW fan; still am. I was a Lions fan since before Billy Sims; still am. I am a UM fan and it is not my fault they have never truly sucked like MSU has since I have been cheering for them in football. I loved UM B-Ball since the the Roy Tarpley years and still am a fan even though they suck now.
I stick with teams through thick and thin, not all my teams have always been great but I have always been grateful for them. Even though I think it is time for Coach Carr to go and a few more losses would probably seal the deal, I canot stomach to root against them, because the SCHOOL not the coach is who I root for.
So take your self righteous and stick up your ass, next 2 your 2 worthless degrees and your shitty attitude. Just because someone has 2 degrees in anything doesn't mean they are not mentally fucking challenged.
Do you really expect me to believe you expect up and downs in the MSU BBall program. Even for a "down" year you made the dance.
If you reply that you except up and downs with your Bball program I will really know you are the stupidest mother fucker that ever lived and really should be put down and not allowed to have kids to spread your stupidity.
