Thought I better say goodbye while I can still type.
I don’t have any symptoms or anything, just feeling like death is imminent.
It's hard not to get that "end of days" vibe.
I've burned all of my PTO this past week and a half, but I work at a hospital and can't stay away forever. I've been shaking every day and it's currently noon and I've been up since yesterday. I think I'm going to cry for a bit after finally logging off. If I could stand the taste of alcohol I would have drank myself to death by now. Other than that, doing okay. Hope my parents don't die.
Hang in there, Oobir.
The four of us need you!
Feeling kinda lossy, you guys.
A couple friends of mine are working at hospitals and dealing with COVID-19. They've both told me that the hardest part is, so often, they can do nothing. Until the tests come back, the suffering patients in medical limbo. You cant' actually treat until you have a diagnosis, but you have to otherwise care for them as if they had a positive diagnosis.
Two weeks ago, another friend's close co-worker had a FALSE POSITIVE COVID-19 test, with the scarcity of tests meaning it took awhile to get COVID-19 mostly ruled out. Due to this, he burned a day at Beaumont to get tested. Fortunately, he's negative, but now he's withdrawn and freaked and I can't just go over and try and cheer him up.
Where I work can't decide whether to pretend to be business as usual, or not. Every deadline, promise, and projection that's weeks out is bullshit. I had to tell someone that no, people won't bet going into COVID-19 evacuated facilities just because they're really curious about something minor. At least the big boss has some empathy.
^ Horrible.
Gonna be working from home! Thankfully I don't do any patient care, so there's no need for me to be physically present at the hospital. Things are looking up for my fam's health. Hope everyone here is able to stay safe.
I would delete that post of mine up there if I still could.
One of my friends who had been working with patients is now in a two-week self-quarantine. :(
One of my best friends just got moved from his cushy gig as a Post-Op nurse for ortho surgeries to a night nurse in the ICU.
An acquaintance, in hospitals and the medical system for other dire reasons since Christmas, died from COVID-19.
He might not have survived what he was dealing with in any event, but the COVID-19 is what ultimately did him in.
He likely wouldn't have contracted it if he weren't in a hospital setting, but you never _know_ with such things.
I just found out that a family friend has COVID-19. Like my acquaintance, she's sickly these days, almost surely got it from hospital exposure. :(
Wonder if Tahoe made the trip to the Zombie Walk in Lansing yesterday?
I wonder how many in the Zombie Walk were infected with COVID-19.
And, the family friend is dead. :( She was sick for a decade, but the fucking COVID-19 was what did her in at the end.
At the point she died, had she lived, they would've had to amputate her arms and legs.
On a lighter note, The Onion posted this a month ago:

And now it's real news. And it's fucking pathetic that "our president is a total dumbass fucktard" is "a lighter note".Quote:
EVANSTON, WY—Throwing bottles of bleach, ammonia, and Drano into a cart at his local grocery store, area man Troy Mitchell was reportedly stocking up on one of every cleaning product he could find Wednesday in case President Donald Trump announces it is a coronavirus cure. “I got toilet bowl cleaner, carpet cleaner, Swiffer WetJet refills—you name it—just so me and my family will be ready if the president announces one of these things can treat Chinese virus,” said Mitchell, indiscriminately throwing containers of laundry detergent, Scrubbing Bubbles, grout whitener, steel wool, Febreze, Tilex mold and mildew remover, and laptop screen wipes into the cart, the contents of which rang up to $2,513.67 at checkout. “I’m not getting caught without some oven degreaser should Trump say it’s going to save us, so I better go ahead and grab me a bottle. After this, I’m hitting the hardware store to pick up a 5-gallon bucket of roof sealant to make sure I’m prepared in the event that turns out to be what gets rid of the Wuhan. Could just be 10 or 20 squirts of Windex into each nostril. You never know what might work in a pinch!” At press time, neighbors confirmed Mitchell had been found unresponsive on the floor of his bathroom with several empty aerosol cans of Rust-Oleum wax-and-tar-removing solvent by his head.
Sorry, Mxy.

Am I the only one feeling he should visit his favorite restaurants before they close again, some perhaps for good?
The ‘rona got Herm Cain.
Tried watching a little sports last night for the first time in forever.
There was a degree of novelty for a few minutes, but I’m just not feeling it.
Watched Harden flop around like a fish on a dock, and then flipped over and caught the last few innings of the Tigers/Reds game.
Was surprised to see Tigers have a winning record. Matt Shepard called them “the biggest surprise in all of baseball”, which seemed like hype at the time, but maybe that’s true.
They cut to C-Mo in the studio and his nose was running like nonstop. He kept wiping the snot away with his bare hand, so finally I had to dip out.
IT MIGHT NOT BE FOOTBALL SEASON.

Abracadabra! Stephen Miller.
Will there be a COVID-19 lockdown before the election in Michigan?
The numbers seem to suggest one should happen.
The politics likely suggest otherwise.
Gonna get my covid vaccine monkey juice shot tomorrow, working at a hospital during a pandemic is finally starting to pay off!
I get to go to my first virtual funeral today.
Virtual due to COVID-19.
Cause of death is COVID-19.
It’s a bad flu.
