Pistons keeping Chucky over Deron Washington

The move is a bit surprising considering the biggest knock on Washington's game -- shooting the ball -- was not a major issue in the preseason.

In fact, he shot 64.3 percent from the field (9-for-14) and was a perfect 3-for-3 on 3-pointers.

Now that he has been waived, Chucky Atkins remains the lone player on the roster without a guaranteed contract.

I wasn't at the practices, but my guess is kid isn't too smart and was having trouble picking stuff up.

I'm not so sure it's more when you consider the portion of the vet's deal that the league covers.

No, but he took the old shooting guard's salary.
