Sue (Huntington Woods, Mich.): I’ve seen a few comments on a Will Bynum nickname. My daughter called in to “Off the Court” the other night suggesting Will Bynumite. I think it works! How realistic is it to think he will still be effective in the playoffs?
Langlois: We’ll see, Sue, but he’s not going to get any slower between now and then, so the thing that makes him most effective – his dribble penetration – figures to be there for him. With Will, it’s a matter of making good decisions once he beats his man and the help defense responds. That’s going to be a challenge if the Pistons draw one of the big three – Cleveland, Boston or Orlando, all elite defensive teams statistically.

Ali (Ann Arbor): I think I was right about Stuckey’s problem being picking up his dribble. After the Knicks game last week, Rip said, “He made plays and kept his dribble.” As for Will Bynum, I think Bynumite is the best fit for him because his game is like unleashing dynamite on the defense.
Langlois: Another vote for Bynumite, which has now taken the lead over “The Genius” and “The Thrill.” You’re right that Stuckey sometimes picks up his dribble too soon. It’s all part of the learning curve for a young point guard.
