The Pistons have issues, but there are no glaring holes, so it’s a safe bet they will take the best player available.

Drummond made his comments Tuesday in downtown Detroit at an event to mark the unveiling of the franchise’s new logo.
“I don’t think we need to do any changes,” Drummond told reporters. “We had a lot of bumps in the road last season with different things going on, and it took everybody out of sync.”
Drummond is coming off a disappointing season, but he thinks the team can do a better job of building chemistry in the off-season.
“With this summer coming up, we have to do a better job staying connected — the more stuff we do together, the better our camaraderie will be,” Drummond said.

The Detroit Pistons could have a vacancy.
Team president and coach Stan Van Gundy confirmed to the Free Press that Pistons legend Josh Smith met with the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
ESPN.com’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports Smith discussed the Kings’ vacant vice president of basketball operations post under Vlade Divac.

If successful, JSmoove would replace Scott Perry, who left the Kings to become general manager of the New York Knicks earlier this summer.
Perry also has Pistons ties, as he was one of former president Joe Dumars’ most trusted lieutenants.
Smith, 31, has previous front-office experience from his time navigating through the Atlanta Hawks ownership shitshow from 2004-13.
He was hired by Van Gundy in 2014 to sit on his ass and get paid, but he has exceeded expectations. He spent his final two seasons being paid by the Pistons to play in Houston and Los Angeles, before moving to China for an exciting opportunity with the Sichuan Blue Whales.
Earlier this off-season, Pistons assistant general manager and non-chucker Pat Garrity interviewed for GM posts with the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks.
Last off-season, assistant general managers Ken Catanella (Kings) and Brian Wright (San Antonio Spurs) left the Pistons.
The Big 3 won't even take him!
Did we sign Smurfus Buttmonkei to a two-way contract?
Kinda wish the season was about to start, you guys.
