Safe is the best way to describe this movie. Much like first spiderman it was good, in fact very good. but could've been better. The story was hanging on to the love story element of lois and superman(nice twist to it later in the movie), but i think it spent too much time on it. Nevertheless the action was amazing and the special effects were so crisp you have trouble telling when its brandon routh or a digital model.
Also kevin spacey stole the show as Lex Luthor. He seriously gives gene hackman a run for his money adding his own style to it. All in all the story is bearable, the action is top of the line, and the ending is cheesy as you'd expect from a superman movie(you have to remember superman was a sucka ass lame at the end, but thats how he is sometimes) with plenty of space for a sequel.
Also 1978 richard donner superman movie buffs will enjoy how they enhanced many of his elements, rather than changing them. Kept the score very similar, used the same style in the title sequence, and even ripped off christopher reeves interpretation of playing clark kent and superman.. This is basically a direct sequel to superman 2 and i recommend watching superman 1 and 2 before seeing this for reference.

Sucked assholes
It's $10.50 out here in the beautiful San Fernando Valley, at the Pacific Theater near where I live.Quote:

The Girl Next Door--9/10
Predictable but still fucking awesome. One of the best sex comedies I've ever seen. Better than any of the American Pie trilogy (of which Wedding is the funniest).
the first half of 40-Year-Old Virgin--8/10
Eh. Liked Girl Next Door better. But until my friend downloads the fucking second half, this isn't an accurate critique.
Watched Fight Club. I didnt really like it that much. Storyline was cool but it was like he had a multi personality disorder, but of course he doesnt. Cool movie but still not up there as one of my top favorites.
Just watched The Skeleton Key. I give it a 6.5/10.
id agree, altho considering most new 'horror' movies it was decent. i liked the ending, at least it was a bit different.Quote:

coming out soon (or already?): the descent
this movie has actually been out on dvd for a while now and i own it. it was a low-budget movie, and must have sold enough dvds that they are bringing it to the theater now. if you are into isolation horror movies its not bad, a couple gross parts even i had to close my eyes to. my gf absolutely will not watch it again because it freaked her out and shes a big horror movie fan herself, so i guess that says something. im not even allowed to put it in if shes sleeping in the same room lol. 7.5/10 (due to lack of good new horrors).
thumbsucker:
good movie, not much to say about it i guess. 8/10.
