I felt the same way about My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
a fairly new movie i loved was city of god. seriously, 5 stars. i avoided this cuz i knew the subtitles would be a problem, and they were (talking was real fast, so i missed a ton of the reading, plus i did more reading than watching) but this movie is a must see.
Juno was good shit. Toward the beginning, I was worried it was just going to be a female Napoleon Dynamite, but those worries quickly vanished. Good writing and a very strong cast.
Everyone I talk to says I should see this movie. Subtitles don't bother me.Quote:

I finally saw the Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer finally. I wanted something vapid and disposable after last night's Knicks debacle, and this fit the bill. With the exception of Chiklis, every other major actor is miscast, the story is broken in a bunch of ways, and its only redeeming features involve Alba in skintight gear and special effects. The fact that it's twice as better as the original just makes it less bad.
Spot on about the casting. I had fun with this movie as long as I pretended it existed in a vacuum and didn't compare it to the comics or other comic book movies.Quote:

In this movie, you feel awful for Kevin Bacon as his son dies, and then as worse things happen to his family. His transformation from executive into vengeful father is great at first, as more bad things happen to him. However, the movie starts to drag on a little bit and it almost seems like a different movie near the end. I still enjoyed it, but I give it a 6.5/10.
The Heartbreak Kid: A typical Farrelly Brothers movie, where you laugh out loud a couple of times, and you get so grossed out/uncomfortable a couple of times you have to laugh. It was funny, but not exactly a good movie. 5/10, typical Ben Stiller.
Reason I'm not watching Rambo: that fucking "Bodies" song that's in the previews. Not only does it suck, but IT'S FUCKING OLD. STOP PLAYING THAT FUCKING SONG EVERYWHERE!!!
Agree - that seriously is one of the worst songs of all time.
