I have seen Glenn in Meijers twice.
I have no problem with Meijer or the Meijer family.
I have it on good word that they despise Manu Ginobili.
And Herm, that's kinda creepy.
So you guys like hang out? You ever eat any of Hermy's cooking Glenn?
He's apparently seen me, but I have no idea what he looks like so I am left to assume that he's the old lady in front of aisle 8 that is always trying to push those samples of Meijer brand shit on me.
Say hello, next time, Herm (but only if I am alone, mmk? It would be an odd thing to explain to the family).
I'm hard to miss, so if I saw Glenn in a store he'd know it's me.
So....the Spurs.
I think if the Hornets can grab a game in SA, they might be able to end it in 5.
More likely, it goes 7 with the home team winning every game.
I can see the Spurs winning handily at home with the home cooking and the flopping.
Chandler is going to be in foul trouble from the opening whistle in SA.

Anyway, the Spurs. They are IMO doing what they have always done, but the Hornets speed is just too much for a team that has never been athletic. Paul always looks like he's walking, but he walks right past every defender. And West is a star and deserves to be treated as suck. Biggest advantage the Hornets hold though is just not making mistakes, which used to be the Spurs boat. Maybe that's what makes them look old, they're pressing.
I say spurs win next two, then Hornets win out in 6.Quote:

As for the playoffs, I still expect the Lakers to win it all. I haven't decided yet, though, whether it'll be Boston or Detroit coming out of the East. I'd love for it to be Boston, but I can't help but have my doubts based on how the Celtics were exposed by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round. That series went 7 games because Boston couldn't deal with Atlanta's athleticism, nor could Boston defend well off the dribble.
As for the Hornets, I'm shocked at what they've done to the Spurs thus far, but the reality is that I shouldn't be. New Orleans is younger and quicker with more hunger. Plus, San Antonio has had trouble scoring all season long. If Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili are not clicking on all cylinders, it's tough for the Spurs. And that was before they faced anyone like Paul, so imagine how things are for them right now.
I'm picking the Hornets to win this series. Haven't decided yet whether it would be in 5 or 7 games. That would totally depend on San Antonio winning both Games 3 and 4. If not, the series ends in 5 because New Orleans is not going to lose at home.
Holla at ya'll later.
THE SPURS ARE OLD AND SLOW

Get a good look at the Spurs if they lose — next year's team is likely to be substantially different. Most of the Spurs' key complementary players are ancient by NBA standards and in the final year of their contracts. For instance, Horry (who richly deserves the name "cheap shot Bob" after his hit on David West in Thursday's game) is 37. Starting guard Michael Finley is 35. Starting forward Fabricio Oberto is 33. The Spurs will have to start a major retooling of the franchise.
They won't look to develop rookies, either. Their core is also getting old. Duncan is 32, and Ginobili is 30 (and his reckless style of play might lead to an early decline in his skills). It will be a big job ahead for the Spurs' front office. As long as their big three are together, the Spurs will always be a force, but in the rapidly changing Western Conference, they may be making a Dallas-like move from championship contender to playoff perennial.
YOU NERVOUS GLENN?
I agree. Your point is equally as vacuous.Quote:

I still don't think this core will win another title together.
Good points in there. I think they'll wait a couple more years before re-tooling. They aren't much older than us (from a starting 5 standpoint). The difference is that we already have a few good young players here and they don't. I suspect they'll just replace a couple guys with new MLE players and hope they can squeeze a couple more title runs out of TD.Quote:

True. They also wasted their early 2nd rounder last year dumping Williams already (They better hope Splitter works out for them some day). They got nothing in 2006, 2005 or 2004 drafts. They could have had Barbosa in 2003, but traded that pick to the Suns. The last good pick was Scola in 2002, which as Glenn mentioned they let slip away. So basically since they drafted Parker in 2001, the Spurs have wasted every chance to add any depth to their team in the draft.
OK, so, they're just kind of medium-well right about now.
Not only that, LA is taylor-made for the Spurs to dominate.
the Spurs will make the finals, and it's hard to imagine it going longer than 6 games.
Here in Spain they love saying that Gasol has had good games against Duncan. Since this is a pretty homer thing to say, is it true?
No.
I think Pau is 0 for the century against duncan in playoff games.
The Spurs swept his team out of the playoffs a few years back, and when they met in the olympic tournament, Duncan won again.
Tim Duncan is a machine programmed to be fundamentally perfect, and Gasol is a shambling greasy hobo junkie. No question Timbot walks away with this one.
Good to know I'm not alone as I argue with an entire nation.
Edit: And I am a Pau fan. Just realistic though I hope.
My assessment of the Spurs and their inability to even make the WCF has proven to be wrong.
Again, I was wrong.
I still think they are done winning championships with this core, but make no mistake, I was wrong about them not making the WCF.
Hopefully I can learn from this and move on.
Lastly, I was wrong about them not making the WCF.
Go Lakers?
I bet the Lakers are really missing Bynum right now. They could use another big to defend TD. Does Farmar get a lot more PT? Fisher will get abused by Parker. Will Kobe be on Manu most of the time? LA needs to ride Odom. The Spurs don't really have anyone to defend him

Nice try.
The after the fact confidence is oh, so sexy.
So you chickened out? OK your prerogative, but its just a sig and theres no after the fact confidence in bringing up something i brought up back when it didnt look likely. You were damn near leaning towards the idea when you were confident, now its "I never agreed to anything" after the fact. :cornbread:
I hear Texas cockroaches are the toughest to kill.
I think Kobe is a bigger factor as if Odom's new found efficiency.Quote:

No, that's not opportunistic at all.
Yuk it up, I deserve it for having an opinion, lol.
Some guy on Rome just referred to them as "The San Antonio Sterns".
That's funny, but the Hornets didn't get screwed, they played like shit and deserved to lose.
Talk about anti-climatic ending. The game just seemed to end with no real excitment. I might think differently if I were a Spurs fan.
but thats what the Spurs do. Just grind it down.
