Rondo.

Rondo has TURNED into a good player. Pistons fans only remember the guy from 2 years ago because that is the last time the Pistons even mattered.

He has gotten better every year in the league. He went from a role player to a solid NBA starter at a hard position. And on THAT team a solid NBA starter at that position is going to have really good nights.

Everyone has this major boner for Andre Miller, well I'd take Rondo in a heartbeat over him

Put Rondo on this Pistons team and he would add 10 wins, IMO.

I like Rondo and would take him too. There are probably only a handful of PG's I'd rather have. Paul and Deron and that's about it. Too soon to tell if Rose, Jennings, etc are winners yet. Parker, Kidd, and Nash are too old. Sure, they can still win it all, but I'd take Rondo over them because you'd have him for 10 years.

5 y/ 55 mil is an OK extension too, i would have done the Stuckey, RIP & Prince for Rondo, Allen deal... you got Rondo/Gordon/Jerebko/Villa/Ben with Kwame/Max/Daye/Allen/Bynum off the bench + Allen's huge expiring contract = we would be in the market for a starting 5

I have never said the guy is crap, or not a starting PG in the league.

I have constantly said that until he plays on a real team and not an NBA Live version of one I refuse to follow along with the public perception of him.

The teams he has been on the last 2 years don't even fucking compare to regular teams.

He was awesome against the Raptors today.

With the Celtics missing KG and Pierce he had:

35 mins, 4 of 8 shooting, 6 of 9 from the foul line, +6 for the game, 5 boards, 7 assists, only 3 turnovers, 1 steal, 1 block and scored 14 points.

Considering the guys that were missing I'd say that was a damn good game...

Wow those last two posts were horrible. KG only had 10pts and 7 boards on the Celts Christmas game. Based off that one game he must be horrible.

I agree that its hard to evaluate players when they play with other great ones (a good example would be the shooters on the Bulls championship teams), but by this same logic would you argue that McHale was not a HoFer because he was a sixth man?

In the end, I can understand a fudge factor for the assists. It helps to play with guys like Allen and KG who can shoot extremely well from the floor at times. That said, he has shot well for 3 years with that cast regardless of who was sitting out on that roster. In fact, more often his play is better when one or more of the big 3 are missing. They have good players buts its not a mandatory double team over there as if Shaq, Wilt, or Dream was in the middle. While his team defense is great (helped by having KG and Sheed behind to be sure), all you have to do is watch any Celts game now to see how much better he is on the ball in man defense. He is excellent.

CP3 and Deron, hands down better. Stuckey? Not a chance IMO. Stuck is good inside 15 and at the line. I also hate to tell you that the league appears to be moving away from posting up PG's. The zone has been facilitated by the rules, and there are only a few good post up PGs left in the league. Certainly in the East.

Your arguments have more holes than Stuck's J.

You're comparing McHale's entire career to Rondo's - how many years has Rondo played so far?

And when have I said that the guy is crap?

I said he's good and that I reserve judgment until I see what he can do with a "regular" team - why is that such a bad thing?

But for the record, every single time a dude like Tony Allen or some other scrub subs for him and posts damn fine numbers the claim that Rondo is so fucking special loses something.

Tony Allen looked fucking awesome in that role. Tony fucking Allen!!!

Before I forget, congrats on your second. Life will never be the same. Infinitely more rewarding, ridiculously harder than having just one. I remember it was back in 2006 the last time I slept in past 7. Boy that was a nice day. Anyway, divide and conquer (if you are married) and if you have family help things become way easier.

Now, please don't using one game stats to ever justify anything. Even HVC (...Cigar) had a good game here or there. I don't think Rondo is an allstar either, and I don't consider him top 5 either. I do think that given that he and Stuck both suck from outside, he is a better defender, rebounder, and certainly better setup man than Stuck. That's all.
