Are you in a jurisdiction where you have to pull a permit to install a water softener?
Is this a replacement water softener over a known previous install, or a new install?
Do you have plumbing you don't want to have softened (e.g. a sprinkler system)?
I paid Culligan's to do their thing, but my adventures in plumbing go as far as installing toilets and random acts of caulking.
If a water softener fell from the sky, I'd duck.

I found this totally at random. I submitted a request to Google Maps to fix it. We'll see how it goes.

On my Android phone, the app that ties up Location Services/GPS the most *is* Google Play Services.
A few times, I've had to clear out the Google Play Services cache just to get the GPS to stop lighting.
And yes, it's Google Play Services itself, not a third-party app, as confirmed by booting into Safe Mode.
Oh, and theoretically, it could be some intermittently dodgy GPS or other location component that's confusing Google Play Services perpetually.
But, that shit is still on Google, too. I see that icon going for hours at a time, with its corresponding hit on battery, and I almost want to by an iPhone.
