I'd trade Afflalo for Wilcox straight up, anyway. Afflalo has no place on this roster, wheras Wilcox is young, gifted and really has never had the benefit of being part of a winning culture.
A guy like Drew Gooden has been used and discarded by The LeBrons and the Spurs. Wilcox has put up decent stats yet hasnt had a real chance to shine.

i don't recall kwame or darko ever averaging close to 14 & 8. so i think already he's better than either of them will ever be. although, brown is a better defender at least.

The sense of entitlement needs to be curbed. Every move that isn't for a future hall of famer gets thrown into the toilet because certain Piston fans who havent known any down years cant deal with reality. It's like a spoiled child that doesnt get the shiny new toy for the first time and whines about it because he has no perspective.
I was at the very least hoping to read something about the two summer league games I missed, where austin days apparently played pretty well, but no, nobody wants to talk about THAT.....
Personally, I don't see this as a move for a back-up. I think Wilcox is better than Kwame. So if the opening lineup doesn't feature another big man not currently on the team, my vote is to start Wilcox and have Kwame come off the bench.
Still hoping Gooden might sign for the minimum.
if the season started today? Yeah, Wilcox would start over Kwame. But I still thin the eventual starting C for this team hasnt been signed yet.
