The war on terror is over, and al-Qaeda won. This news just proves it. Sending out bold threats to scare people and therefore score political points is exactly what terrorism is. The Department of Homeland Security might as well have been taking orders directly from Osama bin Laden himself, considering how things turned out.
The Bush admin and the GOP could call themselves "anti-terror" all they wanted (what the fuck were we supposed to be?) but in the end, they were exactly the kind of people who gave in to terrorist threats. Al-Qaeda threatened, and the Bush admin responded right on cue. "Can't you see that America's existence is being threatened? We have to change how we do everything!" Osama brought down the WTC and Bush ordered the government to buckle like a fucking belt. Mission accomplished, Islamists.
