Glenn, you should probably just break down and call. Otherwise you'll end up in a used subcompact.
It's bound to happen to utter idiots

And when you crack a smile and ev'rything you do

You're so sickin' hand, lone sweetin' thing,
that come up like poison up on your skin.
It lightens up my day and that's also true,
together we are one, seperated we are two.
To make it all mine, all mine is my desire,
cause you contain a quality, you that I admire.
To put it playin' simple, you rule my world,
so try to understand:
I'm in love girl, I'm so in love girl,
I'm just in love girl, and this is true.
Girl you know it's true,
uh uh uh, I love you.
Yes you know it's true,

Girl you know it's true,

These feelings I keep, I often wondering why,
so I thought I might discuss this ? is you and I.
Now what you wear, I don't care,
how ? before, the reason that I like a
girl is for what you are.
If I ? think about it, you rule my world,
so try to understand:
I'm in love girl, I'm so in love girl,
I'm just in love girl, and this is true.
Girl you know it's true,
uh uh uh, I love you.
Yes you know it's true,
uh uh uh, I love you.
Girl you know it's true,

I saw the video the other day on Yo! MTV Raps, which is back or something.
That's the G.O.A.T. right there
Agreed.
Prepare to be blown away...
Even in 2008 I listen to some of Rakim's old rhymes and I just cannot believe what I'm hearing. Follow The Leader is by far my favorite.
So...when are the big-ass rope chains coming back in style?
Nas is probably the only guy who can touch Rakim lyrically IMO.
P.S. I'm wearing rope chains right now.
Welp, might as well pull up the Power Rankings thread...
Yes.Quote:

When the Beatles make a song, you can't imagine it turning out any different, because it's as perfect as it can be. Rakim is just like that - in fact, he's arguably superior because his delivery was so good, whereas none of the Beatles were technically outstanding musicians.Quote:

I'm not comparing the two, but I'm saying that Nas may be just at good at what he does as Rakim is at what he does.
Since Rakim Allah obviously had influence on Nasir Jones, comparisons will be inevitable. But like I said, I'm not comparing them.
Of course Rakim is the G.O.A.T. Anyone who tries to say otherwise is foolin' themselves.
FWIW, Nas is #2 on my list.
But I agree with errything you said, Swam.
"Jackson" -- Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash
My wife and I used to drive back and forth almost every weekend between Chicago and Detroit, and every time we went along I-94 through Jackson, MI, we would put on this song and practice the harmonies. It's fun as hell to play on the guitar.Quote:

I think it just started as a joke, because Jackson is such a pit. Driving through Jackson, MI and singing a song about how you want to go to Jackson because you're going to have such a good time and get laid...it's laden with irony.Quote:

Too bad there isn't a song about Parma, MI.
Sure, there's that old Drew Carey theme "Moon over Parma", but that's about that shithole just outside CLEVELAND.
At least we have "Saginaw, Michigan".
I was a big Rakim fan back when. Somehow I missed the boat on Nas. Completely. Couldn't pick his lyrics out of a lineup if my life depended on it.Quote:
