You've admitted that you've never read nor watched one of those movies so how are you going to judge people that like them?Quote:

not to be picky, but those are more briefs than shorts. Shorts apparently aren't short enough for him.
Isn't that from some movie or something? "Let's make the 99 cent coin!! It'll be revolutionary!" "What about tax you idiot..."Quote:

I read the first 4 Harry Potter books...when I was 10. I loved the story then, but now it just seems silly to me. I prefer stuff I can relate to.Quote:

It's called some people have imagination and don't care drastically for realism when they know it isn't real, myself included. Not Harry Potter so much, but I do like Lord of the Rings. The story's set in an alternate world, so why should they live by our world's rules? I'm done rambling...
I don't get why Big Ben wasn't gifted with bigger hands... He'd be so dominant, possibly on both ends...
It's never a good idea to have McDyess and Ben on the floor at the same time. They drop and fumble more balls than the Detroit Lions.

anyway the argument over relating to movies cracks me up, i've had the same discussion with hip hop fans about rap music for a long time. Guys won't want to listen to rappers like MF Doom or Brotha Lynch Hung because they're too outside the box from the typical gangsta rap shit, they'll argue that it's too 'phony'. Snoop, Jay-Z, 50 cent ETC market music as being "real" to a bunch of people who never have (or ever will) experience that "reality". People don't want real, they want to be fed a bullshit fantasy that seems attainable in the real world even though it isn't.
Anyways all artforms whether music, movies, pictures or whatever are outlets for creative expression. If you lack imagination and cannot put yourself in situations outside of your own than naturally you will not enjoy them. However art must continue to be art, and artists must be creative in their work. The only thing that's really a boundary in art is the imagination of the artist, not reality. If you want reality and something you know can relate to, then go sit on your porch (it gets no more real then that).
So you only watch movies about teenage boys who watch pistons games and post on message boards? That must be a pretty limited selection.Quote:

Sortof living that life. A good movie makes it feel real to you. It doesn't have to be real in itself.
That's what is so great about LOTR, the Matrix, etc. They really make it seem real. Many of those movies are far fetched, but the symbolism is quite real. Either you are completely missing the symbolism, or you are too thrown off by the fantasy part of them that you have no chance to see it.
Things I don't get:
Laid
lol.
I don't get why people chew their gum with their mouth open. They look like a damn cow.
Heartburn.
I've never had it.
Also, I don't understand why I never burp.
I think I burp about once every 6 months or so, and even then, it hardly makes any noise.
It's been this way my whole life. (I might have burped more as a baby, I dunno)
Any doctors here?
maybe you fart a lot. don't know.
I've only had heartburn a few times in my life, and it wasn't something spicey either.
On a related note, I never get ice cream headaces. I could eat a gallon and not get one.
I don't get why Bush is such a dumbass.
Here's Dubya doing the pledge with some other people:

I'm doing that right now. I dont know why i'm doing it. Just how I chew my gum :blob:Quote:

Heartburn blows. I have been diagnosed with acid reflux and it sucks. basically the acid in your stomach burns the bottom of your esophagus. caused by spicy food or stress (in my case). prilosec really helps a lot with it.Quote:

That's the most pointless thing I've ever heard. I was once as good as I've ever been? Wow, that's pretty profound. I'm not as fat as I once was, but I once was as fat as I've ever been. Look how profound I can be too. What a stupid song.
Isn't Toby a Bush supporter?
That would explain a lot of it.
He's using Bush's circular logic I guess.
I actually find it pretty amusing. Its about an old guy (read: Glenn) who while he knows he's past his prime, has that one night where he recaptures the ability he had when he was young. I'm no country music honk or anything but I'm cool with Toby Keith. He's doesn't try to be anything but lighthearted and pleasant.Quote:

I could be wrong but I listen to country a lot (Damn parents playing it 24-7 as a kid) and I always thought he said......Quote:

It makes more sense that way.
I don't get men who paint their fingernails.
I actually looked this up and I believe the way I wrote it is correct although there are websites that have the lyric's both ways.
