Arnie Kander no longer with Pistons -- expect more injuries:

Says he was pushed out by Gundy starting last season. I don't like that.

AUBURN HILLS (CBS Detroit) – Palace Sports and Entertainment and the Detroit Pistons announced Wednesday a partnership with Comcast to distribute non-game content over multiple platforms.
More than 1 million XFINITY subscribers in Michigan will be able to see “The Courtside Show,” a weekly sports/talk and call-in program with Mark Champion and Rick Mahorn, that will be broadcast live on Comcast CN900 starting Saturday. The show airs live every Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon.
The Courtside Show is an abortion. This might be really, really good.
Who's gonna call the fuckin' wahhhhhhmbulance for Marcus Morris?

“Everybody knows how bad I wanted to play with my brother,” Morris said. “Phoenix knew and for them to trade me without consent or telling me or anything like that was kind of I would say a slap in the face because of the contract I took from them guys, the money I took from them. It was kind of a slap in the face. … I’m happy to be here. I’m a Piston, I’m a Bad Boy so I’m ready to get started.”
So he (and Markieff I assume) didn't want to be traded away from his brother, but his agent didn't negotiate a no-trade clause or something similar into his contract? Somebody here screwed up.
There's some thresholds in NBA deals that make no-trade clauses a bit tricky. IIRC, you need to have 8 years in the league and at least 4 years with the team you are signing with.
Steve Blake is not only still in the NBA, but is now a Piston.

We loss Monroe and gain this washed up money stealer. This guy will still be stealing NBA money when he's 45. I always knew if I lived long enough I would see Steve Freakin Blake in a Pistons uniform.Good job VanGundy way to bring fan enthusiasm to the franchise. Boy I cant wait for the season to begin now we have Steve Freakin Blake. P.S. I lie alot.No more mulligans for VanGundy win this year or get lost.
The Pistons have a PAC? Hopefully it's super.

Drummond is looking for a live-in wingman -- maybe he'll score with someone less crazy than Jennette McCurdy:

So who is our starting 4?
The Russian dude from the Bucks.
Thanks. Hope SVG will open to change starting 5.
Who would we get rid of to make room for Eric Moreland?
First, I would need to hear more of Eric Moreland.
Gores purchases the rest of the team. I think he still might find some other owners...private types. Hate to say it, but he probably has Donald Sterling to thank a little bit. The sale of that clown's team increased values.
Not sure if he had to pay updated appreciation of the team or was it just a loan from the fund he controlled?
Ballmer over paying surely helped some but it's the television contract and the expected labor peace that helps a lot more. Plus the weakness of the player union and the increased revenue the owners negotiated back from the players in the last CBA. The biggest thing that helped the TV deal is the continued development of the internet as an entertainment medium and the breakdown of the cable industry strangle hold on distribution. Networks are throwing cash at sports as the only broadcast product unphased by timeshifting.
Damn, Fool broke out the knowledge there. Good post Foo!

7?
Weakness of players union? Can't be any more weak than NFL's. Who lets the comish decide punishment and then lets the comish decide the appeal on the punishment?
Check the Kelsey thread for what 7 means.
NBA comish has even more say on punishments (since judges don't turn over his season long suspensions even less so 4 game ones) but you are right that the NFLPA is the weakest. NFL player salaries are a joke compared to even hockey salaries given how short NFL players' careers are and how so little of their money is guaranteed.
Ersan seems to be putting up 15ish pretty consistently. Is that all we'll need from him? Where is the scoring coming from? KCP, AJ and Morris, Ersan and Dre in that order?
Lord help us if KCP is the highest scorer. Dre will score more than KCP. Jackson will be the primary scoring guard (and on the team as a whole).
Dre 13.8 to 12.7 for KCP.
Looking at the roster or even starting 5, I don't see where the scoring is going to come from. I guess we have to hope AJ can score. He did do a little better at the end of the year. Personally, I'm hoping Jennings can come back.
I guess I'm not sold on AJ just yet.
Jackson averaged 17.6 with 9 assists as a Piston last season. He's going to be fine.

I think we have a game in about 2 weeks??? 3? Preseason, but hey, I'll take it.
Mayo is writing some preseason thoughts. Seems pretty accurate.
Jennings cleared by doctors, per A REPORT.
^ THAT is good news. Even though it'll take a lil while to get in game shape.
Putting this here since I'm not allowed to start new threads anymore
