This team finds a way to surprise me every game.
This team, IMO, takes it's personality from Ben Wallace and Wil Bynum. Play hard, never quit, always compete. Ironic that both led the run in the final two minutes to get the Pistons the lead.
Stuckey with another awesome 1st half. Let's see if he can finish a game strong for once.
both undrafted guys that were possibly not even going to have a place in the league as well. There's probably 29 teams kicking themselves right now.Quote:

we're in trouble.
Just not enough offense on our end, and we're forcing the issue and making crucial mistakes.
Time will tell if we have enough left in the tank to make another run at this. If neither V nor Gordon are going to make open shots, we simply dont have enough firepower.
This game is bizarre. Stuckey, Big Ben and Bynum are all nailing every jumper they take, meanwhile Gordon and CV can't shoot at all.
3-point shooting and turnovers. That's where Dallas is winning this game right now.
Still waiting for Gordon to wake up.
thrill bynum is bringing us back...
stuckey is hurt. finally has a good game and gets injured. crap.
Dallas up 7 with 4 minutes left.
Stuckey having cramp issues in his leg.
Well, if we can come back from this, i'll be shocked again.
yep, that's about it. We've got nothing left to give.
Now no Stuckey. Just Will Bynum left.
Dirk not showing much mercy....big shot to put Dallas up 5 with 32 seconds left.
Good defense, better offense.Quote:

5.7 seconds left.... Bynum is not a terrific 3-point shooter.
I'd dish it to whoever's got a better look, between Gordon and V.
I'm still really proud of these guys, win or lose.
When we get some reinforcements, we'll start beating the better teams consistently.
Just not enough firepower right now.
Oh wow, that was a close one. Good game.
Oh well. Pistons gave them everything they wanted.
Well, I've seen better games from Gordon. 1 for 16 is quite a tough night. It happens, though.
Also, our PG combo seems to be lethal.
We are second to last in the league at 16.0 assists a game.
Yup, lethal...
because there are so many weapons for our PGs to pass to...
There's V, and Gordon....and V, and Gordon...
:langlois:
Yeah, the "I know we lost but at least Curry is gone" stuff is going to get a lot of mileage this year. Nice that it comes from the same guy that defended Curry all last year.Quote:
Put it this way: The aftermath of this 95-90 loss to Dallas, whose epitaph couldn’t be written until Gordon’s tying triple bounced long with two seconds left, was a far cry from Sunday postgames at The Palace a year ago, when Michael Curry was left to bemoan another curiously lethargic effort and another damnably frustrating loss to a lesser opponent.
It's not just the PGs, we won't consistently win without better ball movement.Quote:

Not all that upset about this loss at all. There's a light year's worth of difference between this team and last year's team.
With Gordon having the worst game of his career (!), Rip AND Tay out, rookies permanently manning the 3 spot, and no two-way big on our team... we still manage to claw our way into it at the last shot.
Our two-headed monster of Stuck-Bynum was tearing it up. And if we were healthy, Gordon's horrible shooting night would have meant nothing because we could have just subbed in Rip.
Our boys have heart. They give a fuck and keep trying no matter what. Injuries, inexperienced players, tired legs, shots not falling... still willed ourselves into it. ESPN headline: Nowitski, Mavs survive Pistons. That's right, they survived us, not the other way around.
It's impressive. I like it. I'll be even more impressed if we can go 2-2 on this road trip.
Also, this team is a pretty strong force defensively. Not bad for a group that had all of the "experts" questioning its ability to defend.
Take a look at the assists on the team. Stuckey and Bynum are averaging about 4. Gordon almost 3.5. Then there's no one else. So just because there aren't that many assists doesn't mean that it's the PGs fault.Quote:

Also Rip has more assists than Charlie V does this year. Think about that one.
Is that why we got CV? To pass the ball?
I love when this happens...wait...
You're right, a 0.3 Assist average is perfectly normal for a starting PF. Let's put the blame completely on the PGs for the low assist total.Quote:

So if CV gets assists, the stat keepers will just give them to the PGs?
playing the 2-man game is the only way we can score right now. You cant put two non-scorers out there for %75 of the game and expect to score AND have a high assist total.
Right now, V is catching the ball off screen and rolls and taking his man 1-on-1. That's currently his only play. I would expect his role to diversify when we get more weapons on the floor, and he becomes more comfortable with his teammates.
I'm pretty sure when CV gets assists, it's added to the teams total. If I recall correctly.Quote:

You are the only one arguing that the guards (all 12 of them on this damn team) are getting enough assists.
Yes, Ben Wallace should be carrying this team's assist total... We get it.Quote:
