I've always liked Ama're better, I don't really have any reasonsing behind it, but I've just never been a huge Bosh fan.

I think Stoudemire is disgusting attacking the rim which he does better than Bosh. I just think Bosh can create for himself better because of his superior jumper and better post game. I think if Bosh was on the Suns with that run and gun offense he would be putting up 28 and 11 a game. I think they are equal rebounders, but I just like Bosh more. I think Stoudemire is just as effective as Bosh if he is in the right system. BUT, I was saying Bosh is more effective based on his game and how he would fit in with our team.
5. Also, I didn't say that Bosh was more athletic than Amare. I said he was athletic, period. I said Amare relies more on his athleticism versus his skill set. I think Bosh uses his bball skills more than his athleticism.
If we get Bosh or Stoudemire, I am stoked either way. The thing that will make/break that pick up or trade is who we have in the front court next to him. If we get Bosh we need a low post center next to him so it will free up the floor. If we get Stoudemire we need more of a jump shooting center that will keep the lane clear for Stoudemire to work on offense.
I'd rather have Bosh for the post moves. We've got guys that can attack the basket (nowhere near as good as Amare of course). What we don't have is a guy we can throw it into the post to. Yes, we have Sheed, but he's not consistent and would probably be gone with either of them here. Bosh will get other guys easier shots (when teams double down on him). Amare doesn't get other players easier baskets (just himself).
I would definitely give up anyone besides Stuckey/RIP/Tay to get either right now. I'd rather have Amare now that think we'll get Bosh later.
Trade they were discussing on the radio at lunch that is possible but would never happen:
AI/Sheed/Valter for Amare/Shaq/Barnes
The contracts work, the Suns get their expiring contracts so they can go out and be big players and we get Amare, a backup for Tay, and Shaq, who we can use this year and potentially use as a huge trade chip next year (he's expiring next year, no?)
When Shaq's contract expires, we go after Bosh with that money and get both of them. Amare needs a jump shooter, Bosh has a solid jumper but can go down low as well. Bosh needs a down low player, Amare attacks the rim but can take the jumper if needed. They'd compliment each other fairly well.
Plus, if you get it out there that you think that's a good pairing, Bosh may like knowing that you made the move with him in mind.
I still haven't seen anyone adequately explain why trading for the dysfunctional tandem that is Amar'e/Shaq is going to produce better results here than it has in Phoenix.
Amar'e feels like Shaq is killing "his game" how is he going to feel about having Shaq gravy train on his "get out of jail" card?
Better coaching here?
Its more of a "they want to get out of Shaq's contract so we take him on" type thing. Gives them a ton of cap space this offseason. That's just an assumption, I was only in the car for 3 minutes so I didn't get to hear their reasoning.
Honestly Shaq fit this team better last year (with Billups spreading the floor). he'd be in the way of Stuckey and Amare. Put me in the camp of going after Amare, but not Shaq.Quote:
