4.86 miles, but who's counting. :)

Because of space travel, and the ISS ball bearings are so much better then they used to be. They are more perfectly round now. So as you are driving down the street(and your wheel bearings aren't smoking) know that those heros up in the ISS are contributing to your well being.

The Shuttle docks Saturday 11:25 Central time.
They will unload and attach the Columbus module to the ISS.
Dan Tani will finally come home. He was only supposed to be up there a couple of weeks and be home for Christmas, but because of delays he's been up there over 3 months. He is the one who's mother died just after Christmas.

They THINK a couple of pieces of foam hit the underside of the Shuttle, but none seem to be serious.
They have a ton of pics and film to go through. After the Columbia disaster, they have film from 3 angles at launch, pics of the main, take pictures with the robotic arm, and finally they flip the shuttle right before docking and the ISS takes another set of hi res pics of the underside.
The tank seperates just after nominal orbit and the shuttle stays along side of it for a lil bit so they can take pics of it...to see if there are huge pieces of foam missing or something.

Also, I wish Mike Tirico posted here. Then I would have a friend.
:emo kid:

BTW...there is a guy on the shuttle who's name is Hans Schlagel. Fortunately, I like my name. Its french, I like it. But if I had to have another name, I'd pick Hans Schlagel.
It might not jump right out there at you, but say it a few times, it just rolls off the tongue.

Can any mods that read this please make sure to keep the thread title updated at all times?
Tahoe's putting a lot of work into this and we need to do right by him.
TIA

Note to the mod team:
We've got busy weekend ahead of us, boys.

Technically, it'd be 'Still orbiting' there's really no air in space, except for the air that is on the ISS. But the ISS isn't big enough to have the Shuttle fly around inside of it so that wouldn't work.
I was going to say that earlier but I didn't want to go all Zip Goshboots on you, with naming threads....e.g. Jethro UM
and thanks for name :)

Keep the info coming, Tahoe. I'll give you whatever help you need.
