STAR TREK WAS FRICKIN' AWESOME!!
especially on an IMAX screen
^ Agreed. Star Trek was pretty sweet. I'm hoping Terminator does not disappoint this weekend.
Just watched Let the Right One In. Dutch vampire movie that is getting a lot of critical acclaim. The story centers around a 12 yr old girl who is the vampire of the movie and befriends Ledezma (a 12 yr old boy who gets picked on at school). The movie is very Ledezma (slow and uneventful) but it ends pretty well.
It's both dubbed and subtitled so you can watch it either way.
Funniest dubbed movie of all time: What's Up, Tiger Lilly"--an old Woody Allen movie. Check it oot.
I wanna go see Night at the Museum and the new Wil Ferrell flick. I won't go see them, but I want to.
I love this movie. The best part: Intermission.Quote:

I want to hit myself in the gonads with a hammer. I won't do it, but I want to.Quote:

I'd rather hit Swami in the nads than see anything with Ben Stiller in it.
Does anybody think that the movie Hangover will be funny?
Usually those type of movies end up being stupid, and I don't think this one will live up to Old School, but the trailers have been funny.
It's just stupid that the fag who plays Riley on National Treasure is in the movie. I don't like him.
How the hell did you end up here instead of Rolling Hard?
I finally watched the unrated version of Semi-Pro, which has Will Ferrell with a swinger-chick wife who goes topless a lot. It was almost as forgettable and sucky as the rated version, sadly. Done right, that could have been amazingly awesome. Rarely has a sports league deserved a funny movie as much as the old ABA. <sigh>
7 Pounds: meh. Chick flick, but for super-emo chicks who would rather have some dead guy's donated organs inside them than a living guy's dick.
Defiance: JRR Tolkien ain't got shit on a movie about good-looking muscle-bound Jews who take up weapons and fight the goddamn Nazis. If you're a schlemielisher Yid pacifist who hates Nazis, it's pretty much the perfect fantasy movie.
Yeah, yeah...that's great and all...But what the FUCK is wrong with Europe?Quote:

Beyonce should do a sex tape - that's the only film I wanna see her star in.
She's the worst actor I've seen since the dudes who were trying to look surprised while Lee Harvey Oswald was gunned down by Jack Ruby.Quote:

I've no doubt that religion will be the force, ultimately, about which someone in the probably not too distant future will say, "Wow, they blew themselves to smithereens over that stupid shit?"
Land of the Lost
95% horrible
5% awesomeness
terminator salvation sucked and I am a big terminator series fan. What a flop
^my bro in law has seen it 3x already
Saw Up in 3D yesterday. Good movie. Obviously one to go with your woman and not your buddies, but it has some solid laughs and a good message.
I've heard a lot of good things about Hangover too.
Yeah I've been hearing The Hangover is classic. Probably won't see it in theaters, unfortunately... in time.
I watched a couple of not new movies the past few days...
Blood Diamond - 8.5
No Country for Old Men - 8
Will be watching Defiance today or tomorrow, probably. Oh shit! Tigers double header, nevermind. Will be tomorrow or next day.
Thanks Chris. Been waiting to take the kid to Up and hadn't thought about it for a while. We'll be going today.
Up is a good date movie.
DrRay, I thought No Country Old Men was fantastic, and I thought it was much better than Blood Diamond.
You're probably right, I think I'm selling No Country a little short because I felt it needed a bit more of a wrapup. That's probably due to taste. Overall, I felt both were very good movies, I just felt a bit better about Blood Diamond. Neither one blew me away.
No Country for Old Men is a movie about technological weapons, i.e. guided missiles and bomber drones. Seriously.
A good date movie=A good personality
I refuse to waste 8 bucks on a fucking movie just to get turned down for sex two hours later. Man, this board loses more penis by the minute.
The ONLY movies worth seeing on a super big screen are special effects movies.
Is the comedy any better on a big screen? Fuck No!
If you wanna sit in a room with a bunch of strangers and laugh then go watch a dude do stand up comedy - at least the fucker is trying. Half the comedy films today are full of bullshit.
Porn makes a good date movie.

Not much time to get into the "whys" and "hows"--but The Hangover is not to be missed. Holy farking shit. Everyone in the theater I saw it in laughed throughout.
See it. See it now. See it often. It WILL be the first DVD I have ever bought.
You know you need a DVD player to play those, right Zip? Also, a TV. Also electricity and power outlets.
I'm going to buy it just so I have it. In case some beeyatch invites me over her house for a romantic evening.
Hopefully she'll have food and a shower I can borrow. And ten bucks.
LOS ANGELES—A new motion picture about a resilient underdog who somehow finds the courage to take on a giant, faceless corporation was released Friday by 20th Century Fox, a giant, faceless corporation. "We are just so proud of this wonderful film that shows anything is possible with a little persistence," said Fox executive Janet Taylor, who used her company's unbridled wealth and influence to effectively bury two independent movies opening the same weekend. "This incredible can-do spirit is something you don't see enough of this day and age." Taylor then excused herself to go inform 2,000 Fox employees that they no longer had jobs.
finally saw gran torino. awesome. ill put it above the good the bad and the ugly as my favorite clint eastwood movie. nearly perfect.
the only note it missed on was the clint eastwood crucifix pose. braveheart, passion of the christ, and now gran torino, i dont know why it keeps popping up in movies. its the most tired hollywood cliche and it never works.
doesnt really take away from the movie, just a little disapointing to them resort to it.
The kid who plays the Hmong boy drove me nuts after a while, but other than that, I LOVE that movie.Quote:
