It's an incredible movie. I think it really got hosed at the Oscars because it took so long to get released in the US, and a bunch of other stuff came out on the same weekend. It's a bleak movie but it's full of tension. It's a story all about survival and what it really means to survive. This is the one thing I evangelize and pester everyone about - more people should see this movie.

I noticed that a lot of these Mexican directors get involved with stories that have to do with kids. "Y tu mama," "Harry Potter," "Pan's Labyrinth," "Children of Men" are all movies having something to do with childhood and growing up.

I had never heard of it until I came across it on cable the other day and loved it. Check it out, it's on either HBO or Showtime right now. I kind of want to get the book now too, though I hear it's not that similair. Dystopian stuff fascinates me.

Thanks, maybe I'll check it out on the HBO On Demand this weekend.

Children of Men... definitely worth your time to watch. After seeing him in Children of Men, Serenity and Four Brothers, Chiwetel Ejiofor (yeah, say that five times fast) has made my list of actors to keep an eye out for.

He's in Redbelt, which just came out this weekend I think.

Diary of the Dead

This was a reboot of the Romero zombie franchise where he goes back to his indie film roots and does Night of the Living dead set in the era of youtube.

Occasionally ham-fisted signature George Romero socio-political satire? Check.

Shambling dead? Check.

Over the top guts, gore and splatter? Check.

Novel ways to dispatch a zombie when you thought you'd seen them all? Check.

Badass scythe-wielding deaf mute amish dude? Check.

If you ever liked a zombie flick, this one is a must-see.

Iron Man: 4. Disappointed.

Walk Hard: I laughed a couple times but fell asleep twice trying to watch it.

Walk Hard needs to have a sticker on it that says "Warning: Contains Actual Cocks."

british comedy so it's at times 'subtle' and not your typical flic. but really, really funny stuff. definitely recommend it!

There were some incredibly annoying people in that movie.

Watched Knocked Up for the first time last night with Mrs. Baggins (I really watched it alone). It was alright. I'm a fan of the F word, but I'm not a fan of hearing it 120 times in a movie. That really shouldn't keep me from liking it though, because I love The Big Lebowski.

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

Really funny and didn't always settle for the same jokes every single time. Jonah Hill was a pleasant surprise. 8.5/10.

The Deaths of Ian Stone: 5. It got good reviews, and started well, but then I thought I was watching a Sci-Fi Channel original for the last 30 or so minutes. I give it a 5 because the movie was a 7 or 8, then it became a 2 or 3.

Sharkwater is an interesting well-shot "save the sharks" documentary, well worth watching if you're not looking for the stereotypical "sharks are scary" fare. I'm sorta bummed it didn't include anything about recent discoveries with sharks and asexual reproduction, even though it would've undercut the theme.

War, Inc.

It's basically a liberal porno version of Grosse Pointe Blank.

Are you serious? I loved that movie. DDL was off the chain. The milkshake scene was priceless. "Don't bully me Daniel!" LOL

He was good, but I just didn't like the character. It is possible that he reminds me too much of a guy I have problems with at work. I actually didn't like any of the characters and wanted the movie to be over about halfway through it.

And the ending was horrible.

Anybody ever see the movie "Kids"? I watched it in Sociology today, pretty fucked up movie, half the class left b/c they were "disturbed"...

Yea, you dont need the movie to tell you about teen pregnancy and STD rates among youths. And these days theres the R Kelly factor of old men looking for their next girls gone wild and barely legal corruption.

Saw that a long time ago. It's really not too far off from some groups of kids out there.

Actually yea. Sex is a big part of social relationships and the reaction amongst youths is a subject on point with it. Not saying it should be the subject all year. But I do think its in line with studying an element society.

I actually liked the first one, i'm very lonely in that like though. But i woulda preferred they keep eric bana at banner, I thought he did a good job.

Craving a well executed Hulk movie? Absolutely. I just think it's a difficult thing to pull off and will be pleasantly surprised if this one hits the mark.

The challenge is to make a movie so good, so engaging that you don't lose the audience when the action starts and you take the actor off screen in favor of a big, green, CGI giant smashing things.

Marvel studios proved clever enough to leap that hurdle with Iron Man and the inside-the-helmet close-ups during the action sequences. Maybe they can pull something off for the Hulk

Whether hulk does well doesn't bother me. I want to see how they pull off captain america and the avengers connection from Iron Man.

It's going to turn out the same as all his other movies. Welp, that looks interesting, then after you go and see it, welp, that sucked.
