The Pistons are about to extend exclusive negotiations with the California financier Tom Gores for two weeks. The move comes after negotiations gathered steam this week.
Gores has remained in town for several days to participate in them directly. But sources close to the process told The Detroit News on Thursday there is no agreement in place to sell the team and the two sides continue to bargain on a price.

That would suck. I thought the NBA already said the Pistons woudln't be moving?

There was a link on Hoopshype earlier today from WXYT quoting Tom Wilson as saying the Illitches are still very much interested in buying the Pistons.

The article really doesn't say anything though. I'm interested in buying the pistons too. I'll pay 3,000 cash for 'em. They should print that.
It's the first inkling that Gores still has active opposition though. When the Ilitches 30 day period expired, I think it was widely presumed that they were thus out of the running.
This pointless article doesn't say they're back in the running though, just that they'd still like to buy.
