Jackass 2: Pretty entertaining, 8/10.
Saw The Last Picture Show the other week. I don't know. I think the world gets far too excited about "coming of age" films. Maybe it's just too long ago to cause the same feelings. I didn't get that the coach was gay. It was fine. Its old, so you definately have to want to watch it. The black and white (its not that old, it was just shot in black and white) gave it a good feel.
Also saw The Break Up (wife pick on Netflix, she's on an Anniston kick it appears). It was pretty much a long Sex in the City episode. Not enough Vince Vaughn to be watchable for guys. Ends poorly (the resolution, not the climax), even the wife said so, though the alternate ending was even worse.
Anyone got any information about Borat. It's got great critical reviews, I'd just like to hear one of your guys reviews....
I wont see it because i never found him funny. But i heard if you're into the Borat/Ali G humor, you'll love the movie.
Put it on your Christmas list (assuming you celebrate that).Quote:

A little late with the Flags of our Fathers check-in but here goes anyway. It was a very good movie but it felt like it should have been better. Almost like watching an old newsreel, a lot of interesting events unfolded but not in a way that made me really interested in how the individual characters ended up. Maybe what it needed was a stronger lead actor to pull it off, I'm not sure.
Still, the movie has a lot going for it and I think Clint Eastwood is one of, if not the best american filmmakers going these days. Maybe I was just a victim of my own high expectations, I'd give it a 7 out of 10--I was just hoping for a 9.
i'mma get massacred for this but he's one of the most overrated directors out there right now. And this is coming from a Clint Eastwood fan(90 percent of the westerns i'm willing to watch star him, fuck a john wayne).Quote:
