I saw Cloverfield and would love to give a review, but what do you want out of it? That movie is so fucking hard to explain without giving a lot of its best features away.Quote:

I don't want to hear details about the monster - just if it's worth seeing, if it's just a Godzilla part II, or if there's anything original to it.Quote:

So just don't sit in the second fucking row and you'll be good.
This is definitely not Godzilla Part II. This is more chaotic than any Godzilla movie. I thought it was a pretty original feature...especially since you know little coming in and not a hell of a lot more coming out.
michael clayton is an awesome movie. not a popcorn flick, but a pretty good thriller.
Cloverfield... saw it, loved it.
Cloverfield. It was OK, 7.3/10.
I saw Fido -- think equal parts Pleasantville, Starship Troopers, a hypothetical sequel to Shaun of the Dead, and water (so it's good, but not as good as any of the other movies I listed) and you have some flavor. Trinity is milfy.
Smokin' Aces is on HBO2 right now. The #1 actor listed for the movie is Ben Affleck. He's in 5 minutes of the movie!!! That's just stupid. They don't even mention half the names that are in the whole movie. Just Affleck and Garcia.
Watching The Green Mile right now, actually forgot how ill a movie it was. A lil long but damn good.
saw 'there will be blood'. liked it. definitly spoke to the energy crisis officianado in me. DDL was brilliant, as always.
saw 'beowolf'. pretty damn good. i thought it got lousy reviews, gonna look again. just a nice, enjoyable action movie. nothing wrong with that!
We were in need of some humor yesterday, so we watched a Steven Seagal flick "The Glitter Man." Terribly awesome.
Watched "Over the Hedge" this morning on a recommendation from a friend. Pretty typical and predictable, but it was still ok.
Its a good kids movie. Pretty much all you can ask from it.

I didnt know what to expect from the trailer(iffy on Stiller's directing outside of cable guy), but it looks funny. Robert Downey Jr. as an Australian Method Actor who gets surgery to make himself black specifically for his role is funny to me.
I saw 10,000 BC. If you're bored, a little drunk and it's free... no, you'd still be better off spending two hours devising pistons lineups that don't have any starter more than 7 mpg.
gee seems angry lately
Nah, I heard that movie sucked ass.
I figured as much. Didnt look impressive at all to me. If i'mma watch a "set in ancient era" movie, i'd rather see Apocalypto. Even if its directed by a psycho Aussie not named PharaohQuote:

really... huh.
saw I am Legend. Smith was great, as usual, but the movie was pretty bad, especially the ending. 6.4/10
I've been meaning to see that one. Glad I didn't pay to see it in theaters if its not even a 7.
I saw Species IV. It's not much to write home about, but the lead babe is DAMN HOT.

yeah the ending was fucking lame.Quote:

You won't be disappointed Cross.
I saw The Bank Job on Friday evening...
It was a pretty good movie, it got an 80% on RottenTomatoes, and despite not having a true A-list actor in it (unless you think Jason Statham is A-list), I thought it was terrific...
boobs, violence, bank robbers, dirty cops, the works...good "guy" movie
Definitely an entertaining movie and I would recommend it...
Hey, check out the movie "Hot Fuzz". Man, you can't beat the English sense of humor.
I think the difference between us and England is that they matured as a nation for 1000 years before television was invented. We Americans are probably where they were back in about 1274. Like Swami says, irony is dead in America, but it has fueled European humor since day one, and they refuse to let it devolve into dick and fart jokes (which, coincidentally, I find funny EVERY time).
Hot Fuzz is awesome.

that was a strange movie to say the least, but definitely a good one...
Your logic seems correct, but if that were true then what the hell happened to Japan?Quote:

Wizzle, I just watched your sig through 3 times.
Queen of Outer Space is a classic late-50s bad science fiction movie, which satisfied a requirement of not wanting to think deep thoughts for the past couple hours. It's one of those movies you can laugh at for being so stupid, while still being moderately (if not greatly) entertained. It features Zsa Zsa Gabor as the least attractive woman in the cast -- the other Venusians are 50s-era hotties.
'Lars and the Real Girl'
I thought it was going to be more of a comedy. I understood it was about a guy who treated the real doll as his gf, but didn't expect the drama of it. It's really more about a guy who is mentally disturbed, who works through an aspect of his disorder via a real doll. I don't think that really spoiled anything for those who haven't seen it, just clarification. Anyway, I wasn't too big on it but maybe I'd appreciate it more if I watch it again realizing what it is really about. 5 for now.
