While the logic is flawed, the statement is true. The Pistons win nothing with Speedy Claxton or any other back-up PG forced into starting status.

People didn't say that. They said we might as well trade Arroyo because we aren't winning with him anyway. That's different. I supported getting Watson. But we can't win the title with Arroyo as our starting PG IMO. Not unless Miami and SA have similar catastrophic injuries (similar to us losing Billups).

I agree with what you said, but that's not what I think most people were saying.
