I know. I was just pointing out that of the 2 most popular 90's period gangbanger movies, Menace is 100x better.Quote:

what bothered me about the film was moore's rather sophomoric attack on basic capitalism. i hope he does this better in his new flick. but even still, this movie is very poignant.
i actually was layed off several months ago, and just in the last week got a job offer and have started working again. im glad i didnt watch this while i was unemployed. im much more fortunate than those flint employees. they really were victims of being at the tale end of a culture where good jobs were available for the unskilled. and once those dried up, everyone was screwed. there was no incentive to add a different skill set, or even detroit / flint's economy to diversify, since auto was so lucrative and easy to get into. oil rich countries face the same dilemma. no one wants to do anything but get that oil money, and who can blame them?
anyway, extremely sad movie. moore does a nice job of juxtaposing the privileged and the left behind. i dont think it is as relevant today as it was, though. everyone today should understand the necessity of education and honing a skill.
+ 19 for bdiddy. Don't spend it all in one place.
I really enjoyed Punisher War Zone... fun as hell, and perhaps the truest live-action adaptation of a Marvel comic. Third time's the charm!
i caught a few minutes of '300' tonight on tbs.
2 things stuck out to me about the movie
1) it sucks
2) it was definitly written by a little brother, in fact, i was so sure i looked it up, and yup, the writer is the 5th of 7 children. doesnt get much more little brother ish than that. no surprise there.
Sex Drive cracked me up.
I watched some movie called Lower Learning with Eva Longoria and Jason Biggs (Jim from American Pie). It was shit.
Shrink.
Has Kevin Spacey in it but he's not the entire focus of the movie. It's good. I'm still watching it now.
