Amare Stoudemire a Piston? Rasheed Wallace to San Antonio? Both unlikely

MILWAUKEE -- For those dreaming of seeing Amare Stoudemire at The Palace, you'll get your wish on Sunday when the Phoenix Suns come to town.
Looking to see him in a Pistons uniform?
Keep dreaming.
One of the worst kept secrets in the league has been Phoenix's desire to explore trade options for Stoudemire.
But Detroit is not one of the teams that Phoenix wants to talk to because, frankly, the Pistons don't really have anything the Suns want.
Sure, Rasheed Wallace's expiring contract is attractive. But with Wallace's game clearly on the decline, pairing him up with Shaq -- whose game, like Wallace's, is on the downside as well -- is a disaster waiting to happen.
Any deal involving Stoudemire would probably have to include some type of young big man in return.
Take a look at Detroit's roster. Amir Johnson? Jason Maxiell?
Even if you could make the money work (which it doesn't, by the way), there's no way Steve Kerr would give up a player of Stoudemire's value for Johnson, Maxiell or both packaged together.
As for Wallace, the Pistons will continue to listen to offers for him. But his play this season has made some teams hesitant to put anything on the table, even if his contract comes off the books.
San Antonio was mentioned as a possible team that would have interest, but Detroit would want a big man of some sort in return and the only big man that the Pistons would be interested in giving up Wallace for on San Antonio's roster, is Tim Duncan.
Tim Duncan for Wallace? Keep dreaming.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons and Portland Trail Blazers are among the many teams with whom Phoenix has exchanged trade concepts, with the Bulls and Heat believed to be pursuing Stoudemire hardest at this early stage.
Sheed/Chandler?

Chandler plays with a lot of fire and is certainly a player I wouldn't mind having on the team -- what's his contract like, though?

This crap says something about Tay/Sheed for Amare. That seems like a bit much to be giving up, IMO, simply because we don't have another SF to plug the gap that was just created. Also, it's not like there's a glut of good SFs out there in FA, either. It's interesting, but I'd rather make that kind of offer for Bosh.Quote:

$34 million in expiring contracts....phoenix ownership would accept that deal in a heartbeat, and kerr saves face by dumping all that salary and getting a ton of cap flexibility.
But then we have a 12 million dollar backup wing and a 6 million dollar backup guard. Would we even be able to resign Amare and pay the tax?
