AUBURN HILLS - Well, there's at least one Detroit Piston who knows for sure he'll be back next season.
The Pistons announced this morning that the team has picked up the team option on guard Will Bynum for the 2009-2010 season that will pay the 26-year-old $825,497.
In what has been a disappointing season on so many levels, Bynum's play was one of the few brightspots.
Expected to see spot duty as the team's third point guard, Bynum played his way into the regular rotation as a key sub off the bench.
He appeared in 57 games (one start), and averaged a career-high 7.2 points per game. Bynum had a career-high 32 points against Charlotte this season, which included a franchise-record 26 points in the fourth quarter.
In Game 4 of the Cleveland series, Bynum scored a career playoff-high 22 points.
