BUT I WANT MATT BONNER
so "we" just might let Sheed and AI walk in the offseason to get our precious capspace we might not even use in the offseason at all, just waiting for 2010?! i still hope Joe D can get something done...these guys are too talented, and all the talk about expiring contracts, well you don't have 35 mil in expiring contracts every year...fuck cap space, i want a trade now!
Well, if we pick up Amare then he can get a feel for our organization, then maybe we use that cap space to keep him and pick up Bosh. Its wishful thinking world and this will never actually happen, but just think of how amazing that would be.
there is a Lamarcus Aldrige+ LaFreantz for Amare rumor out there, if that's the price we don't got any chance getting Amare
Stein says the Blazers aren't trading Aldridge, FWIW.
Aldridge is a lot cheaper, plus he stretches the floor more giving Roy space. I can't see it either.
Portland should just let their big contracts expire and see if they can add a B level FA. There won't be a lot of teams with money

Kahlil (Detroit): I was watching ESPN’s NBA show and they were talking about rumors of the Phoenix Suns having everyone on the trading block. Since they are looking for someone with an expiring contract, is there any possibility of packaging Rasheed plus anyone else to get Amare Stoudemire?
:langlois:
I think their salaries are close enough that a deal could be done with just those two players. Now, given the differences in their age, it would be logical to think Phoenix would be looking for something more. But who knows? Maybe not a lot more. Maybe a draft pick. These are volatile times in the NBA because of the uncertain economy. If the Suns think they’re going to lose Stoudemire anyway when he hits free agency in 2010, the appeal of an expiring contract and a player of Wallace’s stature – who could team with Shaq to make for a very intriguing frontcourt combo – for one great stab at a title with an aging, veteran cast, might be very appealing to management. There would be many considerations for Joe Dumars, too, including if he sees Stoudemire as a long-term solution here or if he has some reason to believe he could lock up Stoudemire past his current contract.

Chris (Toledo, Ohio): I heard Rasheed is on the trading block. Do you think those rumors are true?
:langlois:
Do I think Joe Dumars is actively working the phones looking to move Rasheed Wallace? No. Do I think he’s willing to trade to better position his team to compete for titles – this year and beyond? Yup. Any trade of Wallace would have to bring one of two things back to the Pistons: Either a talented young player that Joe D would want to have around for several more seasons, or another expiring contract to match Wallace’s and not impede the Pistons’ ability to remake the team at the end of the season. If it’s the second of those options, then it would have to come attached with another incentive for the Pistons – either a player who is a better fit for the this year’s team, and it’s hard to imagine any player coming back on the last year of his contract who would fill as many needs for the Pistons as Wallace; or assets in some other form, like draft choices. I do think it’s going to be busier than usual at the trade deadline this season, but have no idea yet if the Pistons will be major players. And, truly, I doubt Joe D has an inkling one way or another of that just yet. Trade talk heats up about a week before the deadline, which is Feb. 19.
I wonder if Sheed will take San Antonio's MLE this summer?
For whatever reason, he seems to enjoy playing for hardass coaches.
I'm sure there is a psychological explanation.
