Glenn 08-14-2007, 12:03 PM This is open to all, but it would be best if you used some variation of your WTF screenname as your team name so we can tell each other apart.

Glenn 08-23-2007, 12:18 PM Team name: "Donaghy picks for MoTown"
LOL @ MoTown
Glenn 08-28-2007, 10:00 AM Make sure you guys get your picks in this week.
I just made mine and when I saw the point spreads I was initially confused because there are 3 or 4 games that are off the board (no spread). The reason for that is whenever a Div.1 team is playing a Div.2 team, Yahoo doesn't use the spread, so you are just picking the winner outright.
Also, to clarify how the spread works with Yahoo's game in particular, they use the spread number on Thursday as the final spread. So, for example, the spread might be 7 when you make your picks on Mon, Tues, Wed, etc. but it might change to 7.5 on Thursday and that is the final number.
Here's the FAQ entry on this for more info.
Point Spreads
A point spread is the predicted scoring difference between a game's two opponents. If you choose the team that's favored, they must win by more than the spread number in order for you to get credit for a correct pick. If you choose the underdog team, they must lose by less than the spread number in order for you to get credit for the correct pick.
So, if you pick Penn State and they are favored to beat Notre Dame by five points (Penn State -5.0), they must win the game by six or more points in order for you to get credit for the win. Otherwise, if Notre Dame loses by less than five, you would not get credit for the win. If Penn State wins by exactly five points, the game is a push, and no users get credit for a victory.
If a point spread is listed as "off," this indicates that there is no official point spread for the game. This is most common when a Div. I school plays a Div. II school. When the line is "off," you are simply picking which team will win the game.
Yahoo! Sports uses the point spreads provided by the Associated Press. These spreads will be updated each day, with Thursday's lines serving as the game's official spread.
Also, I think there is still time to join this league if you haven't yet.
WTFchris 08-30-2007, 08:53 AM It's thursday but the spreads are not in there. Did you happen to see what time they are realeased?
WTFchris 08-30-2007, 03:55 PM not sure when it updated, but they are final now.
No Super Cogent Awards for the NCAA pick em? I have three, one in week one and two in week two... and Wil has one in week two.
Glenn 09-10-2007, 01:23 PM You can be in charge of the college SCA's.
Very cogent of you to point this out.
Cool, will do. Thanks for recognizing my cogency.
Here are this weeks Super Cogent Awards:
Artermis picking UCF against the spread vs Texas, and UK vs Louie... thats two for ya big boy.
A couple second place Cogent Awards: Artermis again for Utah along with DarkobetterthanMelo beating UCLA, and Motown paired with DarkobetterthanMelo for their pick of BC over GT. Forgive me for congratulating myself, but I was the only person who picked AB over ARK and it ended up being a push. Worthly of a second place award IMO.
Good luck to all next week, looks like this is going to be a heated battle!!
Artermis 09-16-2007, 01:13 PM Thanks.
Texas has looked awful all year and going into the opening of a new stadium on campus for UCF was just bound to make the game closer.
Also, as I live in KY right now. I just had a feeling that UK could play with UL especially after the MTSU game.
Needless to say my picking MTSU to keep it within 40 aginast LSU was pretty bad.
Only two people even had a chance of being super cogent this week, and Wil Ledezma had not one but two possibly cogent picks. Unfortun(somehow I just fucked up typing and automatically turned on windows narrator, never fucked up that bad before)ately for him only one of those picks was actually super cogent, congrats on picking Ball State to not get beat by at least 23 by Nebraska. Shit Nebraska almost lost, that would have been super duper cogent.
PS - Im still winning, hangin on by a point. BLADOW!!!
WTFchris 09-24-2007, 11:20 AM I'll take winning the week over going against the grain.
Glenn 09-29-2007, 08:11 AM Stanford +14 is my Super Cogent dark horse of the week.
I'll be rooting for our pal, Jimmy.
HipDigIt 09-29-2007, 09:04 AM Stanford +14 is my Super Cogent dark horse of the week.
I'll be rooting for our pal, Jimmy.
However don't look for Dennis Erickson to follow the very soft Dirk Koetter's bullshit "O-fer 14" swing thru California during his duration as coach of my beloved Sun Devils. I think Rudy C. does the deed on these stiffs. You may notice I don't like it enough to include it in my Top 4 for college. USF ROCKS!!!
Glenn 09-30-2007, 11:00 AM Stanford +14 is my Super Cogent dark horse of the week.
I'll be rooting for our pal, Jimmy.
Nailed it!
Wil Ledezma is our only super cogent player this week with two, USF and Maryland. I almost ruined your cogency on the USF one though as Im sure a lot of us were really looking at that game.
darkobetterthanmelo 09-30-2007, 05:38 PM See, I kind of question the whole cogent thing. Lets say you pick the underdog to win almost every game like Wil did, does that count too?
I just looked at the picks for the last couple weeks and Wil is pretty much in line with everyone else's picks, or picked with about half the field. So I don't see where he is just picking underdogs most of the time, or even at a higher percentage than others.
darkobetterthanmelo 09-30-2007, 08:50 PM To me, its the number of games correct, in which you are leading.
WTFchris 10-01-2007, 12:03 PM well, this week sucked ass. I got 8 out of 22 right.
Artermis 10-01-2007, 12:07 PM A lot of people did shitty this week.
What happens when teams lose that are supposed to be god like (yeah Florida and Oklahoma, I am looking at you).
Glenn 10-01-2007, 12:08 PM I bet Vegas isn't upset.
Artermis picked Ill over UW to pull this weeks only super cogent award.
Wilfredo Ledezma 10-10-2007, 03:04 PM See, I kind of question the whole cogent thing. Lets say you pick the underdog to win almost every game like Wil did, does that count too?
How dare you...why do you question my NCAA Football intellect???
You went to HS w/ me Darko, you know how I would bring Phil Steeles preview mag to Bible Class....
Wilfredo Ledezma 10-22-2007, 05:12 PM update it somebody
I'll update it tomorrow, forgot the last couple weeks. I've also lost all mojo for picking college games. Fucking pathetic.
Artermis 10-28-2007, 10:04 AM I am pissed. I forgot to change the KY vs Miss St. game. I knew KY would lose and I forgot to change it.
Here are the super cogent awards I missed.

WTFchris 10-31-2007, 06:05 PM WTFChris picked Mississippi St to cover and they won, and Mississippi to cover (apparantly he is an expert on all things Mississippi)
Haha, I'm reading a book right now that is set in Mississippi (and has nothing to do with football or colleges), wonder if that is helping.
Wilfredo Ledezma 11-03-2007, 11:52 AM The totals:
Wil Ledezma - 7
DarkobetterthanMelo - 0
LOL...it's ok I went to HS w/ him...
Artermis 11-04-2007, 08:39 AM I do believe Glenn finally got one.
Glenn 11-05-2007, 09:22 AM I do believe Glenn finally got one.
THANK YOU, BRIAN KELLY

Maybe we can come up with some sort of tie breaker.
Artermis 12-03-2007, 11:01 AM I never picked any of the tiebreakers each week. I found them to be a waste of time.
I say we go by who has the most cogent picks..:)
WTFchris 12-03-2007, 11:01 AM Well, Hawaii didn't blow Washington out or I could have won outright.
Artermis 12-03-2007, 11:02 AM Woulda, coulda, shoulda. I can say the same thing about Arizona State..:)
WTFchris 12-03-2007, 11:07 AM But I had the same exact picks besides the Hawaii game. Any other game wouldn't have made a difference since we had the same picks.
Artermis 12-03-2007, 11:43 AM Should have picked Washington. hehe
You had a 1 game leading going into the final week. What more do you want?
Artermis 12-03-2007, 11:46 AM Just a thought....we can pick the bowl games. Whoever gets the most right wins. We can pm our picks to Glenn and he can post them.
Glenn 12-03-2007, 12:49 PM I'm sure we'll probably do a seperate bowl challenge type thing.
Congrats Artermis and WTFChris.

Glenn 12-03-2007, 02:26 PM Bah!
They tied again
WTFchris 12-03-2007, 02:57 PM I had a three week streak I see.
You'd think Yahoo would have a tiebreaker system. Something like most individual weeks won.
Oh wait, I beat him 4-2 there. lol
Artermis 12-03-2007, 03:28 PM I got a bigger penis.
Super cogent award for me breaks the tie.
WTFchris 12-04-2007, 12:34 PM Super cogent award for me breaks the tie.
Except that we both had 6 of those too.
Artermis 12-05-2007, 01:21 PM I gave myself an extra SCA because I got a bigger cock.
I think cogency would be having some hot chicks talk about your ginormous cock, especially to other hot chicks. Proclaiming it to be true isn't very cogent, especially when talking to other guys.
Artermis 12-05-2007, 07:14 PM My wife is hot and talks about it all the time.
I will make her write something after she gets it out of her colon.
Timone 12-06-2007, 11:18 AM pics
Artermis 12-06-2007, 11:37 AM See UxKa I knew someone would want pics of my big cock.
It occorred to me to say that since that is a running theme on the board, but I don't want pics of that lol. I knew Karl would come through.
Timone 12-06-2007, 11:50 AM I wanted pics of his wife. Yeah, that's what i meant.
Artermis 12-06-2007, 12:31 PM Liar. You want my cock. Everyone who has lived or will live in Utah likes the cock.
Timone 12-06-2007, 12:39 PM I live in Louisiana. Pics of your wife's colon will also work, man.
Wilfredo Ledezma 12-07-2007, 10:17 PM Do I get any alpacas for winning the most cogent awards?
Wilfredo Ledezma 12-11-2007, 10:08 AM Glenn, are you gonna set up a "Bowl Pick'em" league for WTF on Yahoo!?
