Timone 08-10-2007, 08:20 PM This team is a joke right now...I was watching until Oakland loaded the bases up, which is when I suspected the game would be broken wide open. Now I'm watching the Bills-Saints preseason game.
Timone 08-10-2007, 08:21 PM Now that I look, I see there's 1 out and they have the bases loaded, down 8-2 with Thames up to bat.
MARCUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tahoe 08-10-2007, 08:22 PM MARCUS!
Timone 08-10-2007, 08:30 PM The crowd's into it now, looks like we got the momentum on our side...now if only we can capitalize.
Wilfredo Ledezma 08-10-2007, 08:33 PM Man, the last 3 weeks when I've asked myself "well the pitching can't be as worse today as it was yesterday", it does get worse...
Thames- GS...please win this f-ing game Detroit,....please
Tahoe 08-10-2007, 08:34 PM McBride was smokin there for a while. Hope he can keep it up.
Timone 08-10-2007, 08:36 PM Sheffield homered earlier? I missed it, but it's a good sign for sure.
Timone 08-10-2007, 08:40 PM Things looking up...8-7.
...and there goes the momentum, Jack fuckin' Cust with a granny to make it 12-9 Oakland.
xanadu 08-10-2007, 09:21 PM 14 runs in 5 1/3 against the 2nd worst offense in the AL? tigers pitching is an absolute joke right now. mcbride with a very grilli-esque hit batter, BB, BB, GS sequence. gamecast says miner has an era of 2.77, but BA against of 314. that can't be right
Glenn 08-10-2007, 09:22 PM What a fucked up game.
Good thing I cut Cust from my fantasy team this morning.
xanadu 08-10-2007, 09:28 PM k. suzuki must feel like a douche bag. The A's have sent 12 guys to the plate this innings, and suzuki is 0-2 with 2k's while the rest of the team is still hitting. just 6 more batters til suzuki is up again.
Jethro34 08-11-2007, 08:21 AM Tigers don't care how bad your offense is. Look at Dioner Navarro. Came in batting .189 with 3 HR and 21 RBI for the SEASON! For the series, he was .500 with 2 HR and 4 RBI.
Tigers pitching, the cure for your offensive woes.
Timone 08-11-2007, 05:52 PM Other teams must've picked up on Gum Time from last year and decided to use it for themselves....needless to say it's working.
Timone 08-11-2007, 07:13 PM Marcus Thames, good god...1-0 Tigers. Finally an early lead.
3-2 Tigers, please for the love of god give Verlander & Jones some insurance runs.
b-diddy 08-12-2007, 03:18 PM tigers taking a ton of pitches today. signs of life. if we pull out of this lull now, it wouldnt have cost us anything at all.
MoTown 08-12-2007, 05:22 PM One more win, and that makes two. Win three, and that's what we like to call a winning streak. It has happened before.
Timone 08-12-2007, 05:56 PM Didn't catch the game, slept in until about 4:30, but we won 11-6...I guess that's good.
Jethro34 08-12-2007, 09:58 PM Maggs with 2 HR in the same inning. That's good stuff.
I was a little more focused on the US Open and a Sunday afternoon nap.
Tahoe 08-12-2007, 11:02 PM US Open reruns? :)
The PGA Championship never seems like a major to me. Congrats to Tiger for holding on to win it. Thought it was going to slip away there for a little bit.
Jethro34 08-13-2007, 02:16 AM Yeah, whatever, that thing that Tiger won today. To me, it's the Masters, the British, and those other two.
You gotta love Woody "Tobasco" Austin making a run.
Oh, and the Indians lost. Nice. The next two weeks decide EVERYTHING. Finale against Oakland followed by 13 straight against Cleveland and New York.
WTFchris 08-13-2007, 09:41 AM CLE, NYY, CLE, NYY coming up. Huge series in the race.
Timone 08-13-2007, 06:59 PM God fucking damnit, 2-0 Oakland off a 2 run homer by Ellis.
Timone 08-13-2007, 07:03 PM Nice catch by Granderson at the center field wall. It appears this season a shot to center field isn't an automatic out anymore.
2 on, nobody out, for the Sheff...looks good.
Alright, 2-2, Durbin just got a 1-2-3 inning...I think he may be settling in.
