ok, i have an old mp3 player, that is incompatibal with vista. fine. ill use my roommates comp (so i thought). he has WMP 10 or 11. i think i used to use 9 and it worked fine to add music to my portable device. but his version only seems to have this syncing option, which is a complete fucking mystery to me.

anyone want to clue me in on what it does. ill probably just do this at work tomorrow, rather than add to the 2 hrs ive just wasted.

btw, i'll never upgrade my mp3 player. it holds 64 mbs, which isnt a ton, but i can stuff about 70 songs on there and the thing has taken more of a beating than anything else i can think of for the last 8 years and has just kept on working.

anyone have a little help? i dont want to change my roommate's wmp version, so a little tutorial would be helpful.

I never synced mine because I listen to the music in the Creative software that comes with mine. Not sure if it's worth syncing or not.

Basically it takes a playlist (or your whole library) of songs from on your PC and puts them on your MP3 player.

What are you trying to do B? Take music from a cd or just from your roomates PC? What MP3 player do you have?

The sync option should work. Just hit sync tab and then the "edit playist" button to build the list of song you want "synced" (added), then hit "start sync" when you've got the list you want.

You can probably have an older version on his computer along with his version, then just use the older version with your MP3 player.
