View Full Version : Trade idea: Nazr/pick for Turkoglu
Glenn 07-06-2007, 12:24 PM If Joe can find a decent center(s) someplace else (trade, MLE) then maybe we could trade Nazr/pick to Orlando for Hedo.
Hedo could back up three positions (mainly SF) and with Orlando renouncing Darko, they'll need another backup big man.
Turk is the odd man out since they signed Lewis, it is rumored. This would help them balance their roster.
WTFchris 07-06-2007, 12:34 PM I would do it. Turk only has two years left on his deal, which is much better than Nazr. We'd have to include Flip though or we'd be taking on extra salary (and risk taxes). I'd even give them a second rounder if they wanted it.
Cross 07-06-2007, 10:58 PM Actually, I think we shuld look at Trevor Ariza instead of Hedo. I think Hedo may end up staying as the starting 2 guard and have JJ back him up.
I'd take Ariza as he is pretty athletic but have no idea on his jumpshot,.
WTFchris 07-09-2007, 11:49 AM He'd probably be a solid backup to Tay at least. Would Isiah want Nazr back though? He has Curry and Randolph already.
Stop sucking up to McCosky Glenn.

What proposal has the Knicks involved? Turkoglu and Ariza are both with Orlando.

Shit, I forgot Ariza went there. He was part of the Franchise deal wasn't he?
Zekyl 07-09-2007, 01:29 PM I'd rather have Ariza than Turk too, but I don't think they'd give up Ariza for Nazr.
WTFchris 07-09-2007, 02:03 PM Not if we include Flip or some 2nd rounders?
Zekyl 07-09-2007, 02:09 PM MAYBE if we did that, but how much do they need Flip? They've already got Reddick as their little combo-guard project, along with Diener, Dooling, Arroyo, Bogans. They're set in the guard area.
Edit: The salaries would never match anyway.....
Hermy 07-09-2007, 02:11 PM No, they like Arizia a lot.
defrocked 07-09-2007, 05:56 PM With David Lee and Renaldo Balkman off limits, the Knicks have made available veterans Jared Jeffries and Malik Rose, neither of whom can be paired with Nate Robinson, Mardy Collins, Randolph Morris and their two new draft picks, Wilson Chandler and Demetris Nichols. Obviously, Petrie would want Lee foremost. Isiah Thomas emphasized Lee is not on the table, unless it's Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett. -- NY Post
What about a Nazr for Jared Jeffries deal? I think they have nearly identical contracts, but I feel like we'd have to add something. Flip would put us over the 25%. Maybe a pick of some kind? Not sure what Jeffries' value is right now.
Hermy 07-09-2007, 06:00 PM Isiah already traded Nazr away.
defrocked 07-09-2007, 07:10 PM Pff, who hasn't Isiah traded away at this point? He's probably forgotten all about it by now.
WTFchris 07-10-2007, 09:52 AM Looks like Reddick is tearing it up. With him, Ariza, Turk and their draft pick Terry in the mix, maybe they will want to move one. They also have Bogans and Dooling for depth.
MOST IMPRESSIVE: J.J. Redick (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=4139), Magic -- The former college player of the year looked like he was back at Duke University Monday night, almost scoring at will from all over the floor in Orlando's 85-74 defeat of New Jersey.
Redick, who saw only sporadic minutes in 42 games as a rookie for the Magic, had 30 points against the Nets by making 7-of-18 shots, four 3-pointers and all 12 of his free throws.
It was a huge performance considering that Redick is basically auditioning for the Magic's vacant starting shooting guard job in front of new coach Stan Van Gundy. The position opened up last week when veteran Grant Hill (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=2626) informed the Magic that he had agreed to sign a two-year, $4 million free-agent contract with the Phoenix Suns (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=pho).
Redick could be replacing the player he idolized as a kid when he was growing up in Virginia as a true-blue Dukie and learned under last season as a NBA rookie.
"I definitely feel like there's an opportunity available for me, and that's something that I've already talked to the coaches about," Redick said. "It's July, and they're certainly not promising anything to anybody. I'm just trying to use this week as momentum. I want to try and figure out what I need to work on the rest of the summer and then go into training camp healthy."
