I know it's just a bullshit fake rumor, but here's the best scenario that I could come up with, maybe somebody else can do better.

This would have to be done as two seperate (but pre-agreed to) deals:

Part A:
Chauncey (re-signed at roughly $13.5m)

for

Mike Bibby
Draft pick

Part B:
Nazr Mohammed

for

Spencer Hawes
John Salmons

Net effect:
INCOMING:
Mike Bibby (2 years left, $13.5m in 07/08 and $14.5 m in 08/09)
Spencer Hawes (Rookie contract, #10 pick starts at $1.69m for 07/08)
John Salmons (3 years remain, plus option (p) for 4th year, $4.75m for 07/08)
Draft pick

OUTGOING:
Chauncey Billups (4 or 5 years, starting roughly at $13.5m)
Nazr Mohammed (3 years remain, plus option (p) for 4th year, $5.63m for 07/08)

This would be contingent on the belief that Salmons can backup Tay, and at 6'7", that is possible, but not ideal. He's more of a SG.

Best I could do.

Such trades arguably belong in The Stands.
Eww...

I was just trying to match salaries and fill needs, my good man.

If someone else wants to take a stab at it, go for it.

I do not want to trade Billups for Bibby and a pick. No way.

That's not what it said, you have to look at the whole thing, not just that Billups/Bibby/pick part.

I don't have a problem with people thinking it's a bad deal, I just want to make sure you aren't thinking it's Billups for Bibby and a pick and that is all.

As I said, try to come up with a better version if you can.

There really isn't anything I'd want from them that would add up to Billups. If it was Bibby from a couple years ago, that would be great, or if we had a future PG in waiting. If we had drafted a PG (yes, stuckey will play point, but he isn't a true pg) then I'd feel better about this knowing that Bibby was just here to ease the transition. Just my thoughts. And I was looking at it as Billups for Bibby because I don't know much about Salmons other than I remember him being unimpressive when he was with the 76ers, and Hawes for Nazr is probably not a huge improvement. If they get Billups, how good is that extra first rounder going to be?

I wanted to do a trade like this before the draft. Since the #10 pick became Hawes, I would still consider it depending on what Joe thinks of Hawes.

Yeah, Sactown doesn't have anything to offer anybody, why are they trying to do S&T's. I would only do Bibby and Hawes if Billups demanded to leave.
