Angola: Basketball - Federation Confirms Release of Cipriano From National Squad

Angolan basketball player with 1º de Agosto, Olimpio Cipriano, has been discharged from the national team's works until July 12, on Sunday informed the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) chairman, Tony Sofrimento.

Speaking to ANGOP, to comment on the news about Cipriano's presence in the U.S.A for tests in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the Detroit Pistons team, he said the player asked for a leave of absence to sort out personal issues and may join the team on the agreed time.

Olimpio Cipriano, 25 years old and 1.92 metres tall, was one of the best players in the recently finished national championship, in which he won the trophy of best scorer.

He is the third Angolan player trying to play for an NBA team. Gerson Monteiro and Victor Muzadi were the previous ones.

Get the trophy polish out, lol.

Could just be a summer league invite, who knows?

I saw Cipriano play several times. he struck me as a definite NBA prospect.

Last I checked though, he needs to work on his consistency. Very gifted by disappears every other game.

I didn't even hear about that back then. Wonder whatever happened to that guy.
