View Full Version : Draft Night 2007 (official NBA draft discussion thread)
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:44 AM its tonight 7/6 central on espn (no tnt?)
lets get this guy w/ 57:
Ryvon Covile has a chance.
In the second round of tonight's NBA draft, Covile, a former standout at Detroit Mercy and Detroit Community High School, could hear his name called and realize a dream for the 6-foot-9 forward.
"I've talked to about six teams about Ryvon and all of them are very much into him," UDM coach Perry Watson said. "They are impressed with his maturity.
"I hope somebody will pull the trigger and draft him."
And the reason he has a chance is his work in predraft camps and in workouts with NBA teams.
Covile is coming off a season in which he averaged 13.7 points per game and 10.6 rebounds (seventh in Division I).
This success came after suffering a season-ending knee injury in what was supposed to have been his senior season in 2005-06.
Covile parlayed his good senior season into an invitation to the Portsmouth (Va.) Invitational, a tryout camp for NBA draft hopefuls in April.
Averaging 12.6 points and 13.3 rebounds over three games, Covile helped his team reached the finals and he was named to the all-tournament team.
"It was fun," Covile said after Portsmouth. "I was nervous when I went down there. But I settled down.
"Because everybody was good there, you had to bring your A-game."
He was then invited to the NBA's annual predraft camp in Orlando in early June, but wasn't as impressive there, according to Chris Monter, editor of the Monter Draft News.
"He scored 18 points in the Orlando opener, but went 3-for-13 in the last two games," Monter said.
But Monter likes the physical attributes of Covile.
"He's a little bit undersized, but he has a 7-1 1/4 wingspan, which allows him to play a little bigger."
Monter said Covile also bench-pressed 185 pounds 19 times -- one of the best showings of strength in Orlando.
"He's a not a great athlete in terms of leaping ability, but he is very strong," Monter said.
SI.com has Covile going to the Bulls with the 51st pick, and Insidehoops.com lists him as a probable draft pick. Covile worked out for Pistons on Monday, and the Pistons have the 57th pick of the draft.
And if his name is called?
"Everybody wants to make the NBA," Covile said. "I'd be speechless."
WTFchris 06-28-2007, 08:47 AM Why? We have Maxiell already, plus Amir is probably a PF. 6'9" is short for a center these days.
I have him going to San Antonio at #58 (unless they grab a big man earlier).
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:55 AM local guy w/ a good work ethic > some other useless chump that will be just as irrelivent but minus the intangibles.
Zekyl 06-28-2007, 09:11 AM I still don't see where he would fit in on our team. We have 2 young PF's and Chris is right, he's too small to play C.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:44 AM i guess im the oddball. if i ran the team, the bottom of my bench would be filled with big nastys that the other team would dread to see enter the game.
i could care less what positions the guys at the end of the bench play. we've relied on 7 guys for 3 years now. i'd be much more concerned about what other things these guys can bring to the team.
and please, no more tony ranzone specials.
WTFchris 06-28-2007, 09:51 AM I'd rather take a flier on Bobby Brown (the high school PG) and hope he pans out. Even if Coville played well, where does he play with Sheed/Dyess/Max/Amir ahead of him? He'd simply be a younger Dale Davis rotting on the bench.
Glenn 06-28-2007, 09:52 AM Visser?
WTFchris 06-28-2007, 09:57 AM If he's there, yes. I think Dallas, Toronto and Orlando could all take a flier on him before then.
a random tidbit, Thaddeus Young had a 4.3 GPA in high school. not sure how that translates to "basketball IQ", but he's certainly intelligent.
Outstanding student who compiled a 4.3 GPA in high school, was a member of the National Honor Society

Magic Trade Second Round Pick to Houston For Cash
Posted Jun 28 2007 12:49PM
Orlando, FL -- The Orlando Magic have traded a second round pick (54th overall) in the 2007 NBA Draft to the Houston Rockets in exchange for cash considerations, Orlando General Manager Otis Smith announced this afternoon.
darkobetterthanmelo 06-28-2007, 01:33 PM He sounds like Tayshaun
It's almost time.........................
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 06:50 PM Guys on ESPNews saying Seattle wants to trade Ray for #5, Wally, Delonte West...
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:25 PM i'd do that if im boston. why the hell not?
im calling oden goes this pick.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:30 PM 1/1.
i'll go durant at #2.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:34 PM oden seems like a nice, likeable guy. but he's not nearly as funny as he thinks he is.
i wonder if the scouts charted his S.O.H. when they said oden over durant.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:35 PM WOW! eray calls it, and jeff Green is going # 5, and to seatle... huh?
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:35 PM 2/2.
horford goes 3.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:41 PM 3/3
mike conley
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:46 PM 4/4.
im going out on a limb here and predicting jeff green goes #5, for seatle.
and yes, this counts as a prediction still.
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 07:48 PM This sucks for those who wanted a pg or hoping one would fall.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 07:49 PM Werd. We' won't be getting Law.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:50 PM i dont know why anyone thought conley would fall. kid pretty much carried his team to the ncaa's. i thought he probably should have gone #3.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:51 PM 5/5.
im thinking no international incident and milwaukee takes corey brewer here.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:52 PM scratch that, ill go with the incident. yi to the 'kee, yo.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 07:55 PM Yeah, I'm not sure why people thought Conley would fall either. He is a good basketball player, and isn't that what it's all about? I'm tired of picks based on "talent" (basically good scores in non-basketball related drills) and thinking they'll magically learn how to play.
Cross 06-28-2007, 07:56 PM Can't really shoot the ball...no way he goes past Minny though.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:56 PM sports guy should be a good read tomorrow, unless he's already hanged himself before he finished his article.
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 07:57 PM I'm not talking about any specific PG falling but the early run on PGs sucks if thats what you think we need.
Timone 06-28-2007, 07:57 PM Bwahaha Jianlian to the Bucks, this is going to be interesting.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 07:57 PM oh boy, ww3 on its way. 6/6.
this is a tough one, who know what minny will be next year. i'll take brandon WRIGHT, though.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 07:59 PM EEEEE. eeee jianlian....
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:00 PM where the fuck is dick vitale to trash the foreigner? or atleast wrath of diddy.
Cross 06-28-2007, 08:00 PM They should have taken Brewer....
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:01 PM yi speaks english better than 1/3 of the nba already.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:01 PM where the fuck is dick vitale to trash the foreigner? or atleast wrath of diddy.
Wrath of Dizzle~!
Minny take Wright. Woo, go T'Wolves!
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:01 PM They should have taken Brewer....
it would have been too confusing with the brewers.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:04 PM That fucking took the She Wolves long enough.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:04 PM Good pick.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:05 PM down goes the streak! corey brewer. i suspect this was made in mind of keeping kg.
6/7.
i'll go joakim at #8.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:06 PM Fuck a Noah.
edit: and what's with the All-American Rejects theme? Wow, this really is a pussy sport... Fuck you too, David Stern!
ps I've been dishing a lot of fuck yous lately.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:08 PM ? is, does yi in the 'kee help or hurt their cause in landing chauncy? i'd say HURT.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:10 PM I don't know... Does it really take an effect? How would it have been different if they chose Brewer? Or Wright?
Uncle Mxy 06-28-2007, 08:10 PM Yi gets traded for cultural reasons, like Kareem did.
Cross 06-28-2007, 08:11 PM Chinese fans are probably thinking..where the fuck is Milwuakee
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:12 PM Man I wish the NFL draft would roll like this. They drag shit out for the TV revenue.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:12 PM oooh, i should have known jordan couldnt pass up the tar heel.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:12 PM Who didn't see this one coming? Another UNC guy...
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:12 PM Chinese fans are probably thinking..where the fuck is Milwuakee
I'm kind of thinking that too.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:13 PM solid pick. i think he could end up being the 3rd best player from this draft.
i REALLY wish this was on tnt instead of ESPN.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:13 PM This draft needs some Bathory.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:14 PM any chance noah falls to us? that would be pretty f'ing ideal.
does wright have braces?
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:14 PM wright sounds pretty confident...
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:15 PM Take care guys, hopefully the Pistons actually draft someone who can play immediately.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:15 PM 6/8, gotta go noah.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:16 PM any chance noah falls to us? that would be pretty f'ing ideal.
does wright have braces?
If we were to pick Noah, I would turn off the draft in favor of "Winged Migration" on Animal Planet. I really despise Noah.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:17 PM Noah = Anderson Varajao.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:18 PM GAY!
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:18 PM he's pretty solid. his mobility blow's sideshow bob's out of the water. plus he's pretty smart. he'll be good off the bench, i'd think.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:18 PM Yuck. Noah a Bull, another big man that can't score.
diddy, do you look for a bench player in the lottery?
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:19 PM Joakim's mom...
Speaking of fucking a Noah, e-ray.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:19 PM noah it is. 7/9. this is where the picking gets tough. julian wright?
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:19 PM noah a post threat?
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:20 PM He's just going to be an extremely poor man's Shawn Marion.
The Bulls already have a retarded looking player in Kirk Hinrich.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:20 PM Yuck. Noah a Bull, another big man that can't score.
diddy, do you look for a bench player in the lottery?
a sixth man big man is fine in the mid lottery. i think he'll fit in well w/ an up tempo bull team.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:20 PM Bulls looking to get more athletic i guess. get tyrus and noah in the open court if you want consistent points from them.
imo bad pick.
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:21 PM Love the pick for the Bulls. I don't like Noah and I don't like the Bulls. Perfect fit.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:21 PM He's just going to be an extremely poor man's Shawn Marion.
thats too much of a compliment. he's almost identical to tyrus thomas imo.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:22 PM How about my Anderson Varajao comment?
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:23 PM noah doesnt have 1/2 tyrus' ups.
i dont get this duncan commercial at all.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:24 PM How about my Anderson Varajao comment?
he's far more athletic, but similar energy wise and he's verajo if varajo had talent.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:25 PM Then we've got it settled.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:25 PM Spencer Hawes at 10 for the Kings, they'll probably want Miller to tutor him before he goes...
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:26 PM Daddy has to redeem himself here, his percentage is sinking to Todd Jones levels.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:27 PM Daddy has to redeem himself here, his percentage is sinking to Todd Jones levels.
lol
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:27 PM spencer hawes? glad i'll never hve to watch this dude play.
7/10.
atl goes (and im pulling a name out of a hat here) crittenton. never saw him play, but he's a tall pg, right? sounds like what they want.
Cross 06-28-2007, 08:27 PM The Hawks should trade their pick for ridnour. Sonics now got WAtson,West,Ridnour as their point guards...more than enough.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:28 PM Daddy has to redeem himself here, his percentage is sinking to Todd Jones levels.
i completely blew it with the minny /charlotte picks. i almost switched to the right one both times right before the pick. it turns into a blood bath here on out. im guessing i dont get another one right until the pistons take the titan at #57.
darkobetterthanmelo 06-28-2007, 08:28 PM Gotta be Acie Law here, also how great is it that the 2 biggest clowns in the NBA are on our biggest rivals.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:29 PM Looking at paxson, I almost wanna see chuck person come in and elbow him from out of nowhere.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:29 PM The Hawks should trade their pick for ridnour. Sonics now got WAtson,West,Ridnour as their point guards...more than enough.
can the sonics really get 3 lottery picks? can they really use 3 lottery picks on sf's?
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:30 PM The bulls are staying a perimeter team it seems. fuck a paint point.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:30 PM Stephen A. must not have his cheese doodles with him.
I just want Bilas to smack the fuck out of him.
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:30 PM I like the Sac pick of a big man.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:31 PM Acie here for sure.
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:31 PM BTW, I'm 12/12
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:31 PM no acie in motown:emo kid:
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:32 PM AL4! i THINK im glad the pistons didnt end up w/ him. 7/11.
philly has to screw this up... i forget who's on their team.
julian wright.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:33 PM Mehhh... Damn.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:33 PM LoL. Was that Barkley who let "midget" slip?
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:34 PM im lovin those new hawk jerseys. they s/b a 500 team next. too bad for phx.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:35 PM Fuck it, Taurean Green to the 76ers.
(yes, I'm aware I'm doing this all out of my ass)
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:35 PM The Hawks Jerseys just seem like New Jersey replicas... Too unoriginal.
Hahaha timbeau, golden prediction.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:35 PM no shockers yet. anyone thinking we're done w/ trades?
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:36 PM Our board-wide mock isn't fairing too well...
darkobetterthanmelo 06-28-2007, 08:37 PM You can get Green at 21 or 30
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:38 PM screamin A is adding an hr to this telecast single mouthedly.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:39 PM I'm just here to supply the one liners and leave the real predictions to Dizzle.
darkobetterthanmelo 06-28-2007, 08:39 PM Who did you all understand better Screamin A or jinlienalinelian
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:39 PM BBOOOOOO THEY STEAL OUR THADDEUS.
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:39 PM Told ya
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:40 PM Screamin' A, Jingalingling was just brutal.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:40 PM 7/12.
i'll say NO takes dude that eeryone says theyre taking. nick young is it?
Cross 06-28-2007, 08:40 PM OMFG FUCK THE SIXERS FDUCK YOU KING FUCK YOU WHY THADDEUS SO DAMN HIGH? FUCK NOW NICK YOUNG HAS TO GO TO THE FUCKING HORNETS:emo kid:
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:41 PM Two more picks! Will it be Thornton, or will we be forced into taking Stuckeybuns?
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:41 PM No wonder Tim never talks.
Uncle Mxy 06-28-2007, 08:43 PM Stuckeybuns? Sounds like someone has a case of rhoid rage.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:44 PM i have a bad feeling we're taking thorton and entering the 'curse of the hollinger' era.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:44 PM As in, hemorrhoid rage?
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:45 PM e-ray, keep up the top notch work man. You are the Justin Verlander of these boards.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:46 PM I haven't thrown a no no yet, but I don't know the message board equivalent. ps gracias
Julian Wright goes to the Hornets! Clippers... Hmmm. I have no idea who they'll pick. Crittenton?
Cross 06-28-2007, 08:46 PM NICK YOUNG TO DETROIT!
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:47 PM damn, should have stuck with wright. 7/13.
nick young to the clips is an obvious pick.
<--- has never seen nick young.
dicky v speaks! 10 rookies avg double figures! will one be the foreigner? i doubt dicky thinks so.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:48 PM BBOOOOOO THEY STEAL OUR THADDEUS.
to be expected.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:48 PM Clippers drafting, so let's talk about the Pistons. Which foreigner are we drafting this year?
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:48 PM As in, hemorrhoid rage?
LOL
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:49 PM Hmmmmmmmm........ I have to think there is a chance the Clips will take Crittenton. I've never seen Nick Young either (I probably have, but he didn't imprint on my memory). If we pick him, let's hope it's not because he sucks shit.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:49 PM memo diss or screaming A diss? i liked it. +1 to stu scott.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:50 PM I wonder what NBA "analyst" actually does like Stephen A. Smith.
Probably Wilbon.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:52 PM WTFDetroit Mock Draft FTL.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:52 PM Al Thornton! Ha, wouldn't have thought with Elton Brand and all... Probably Nick Young for us, then.
edit: I was kind of hoping Thornton would fall to us. He may not fit our needs exactly, but him and Max out there could have been like the bash brothers.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:52 PM AT wiped off the board. hollinger curse averted. 7/13.
im saying nick young.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:53 PM I say the Italian.
Did my lack of draft knowledge surprise you? Didn't think so.
Uncle Mxy 06-28-2007, 08:53 PM The time is now -- for rhoid rage!
(And yes, that is what I meant.)
Cross 06-28-2007, 08:53 PM Wow Clippers fan must be pissed off unless they get Mo Williams or someone who can make a difference(not Hart)
With Crittenton and Stuckey and young on board, I wonder who we go to. I think we go Crittenton here.
metr0man 06-28-2007, 08:54 PM Hmm. the Clips passed on Jarvis Critterion. Things are interesting for the Pistons now.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:54 PM whoa, nick young is way low on the hollinger chart. nvrmind, i'll go with the hype: stuckey.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:54 PM I change my mind to Glenn Davis, we don't have enough power players.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:55 PM LOL @ Jarvis Critterion.
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:56 PM Whatever the pick is, I hope it can give us some value for the Darko pick of ...several years ago.
As usual ESPN goes to commercial anytime a Detroit team is on the clock. Football basketball, it doesn't matter.
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:57 PM I want Glenn Davis only so I can hear Blaha say "Big Baby"
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:57 PM espn.com is saying zach randolph to nyk for francis and channing frye is being discussed.
zach randolph to the knicks was written in stone for over a year now, but i dont like this move for the trailblazers. they need to get dave lee and cap an expiring. zeke will fold.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 08:58 PM Rodney Stuckeybuns! Fuck@!
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 08:58 PM Rodney Stuckey
Cross 06-28-2007, 08:58 PM I was expecting way more trades than this...
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:58 PM A few defensive stops away? Wow, way to not show you're a homer Tirico. More like a few GAMES.
Cross 06-28-2007, 08:59 PM AND WE GO WITH STUCKEY..FUCK
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 08:59 PM stucky ends the sucky streak (sorry). 8/14.
im ok w/ this. as long as he's athletic as all get out.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 08:59 PM poor mans Dwayne wade? hmmmm
Timone 06-28-2007, 08:59 PM Rodney White...Rodney Stuckey...
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:00 PM STFU Tirico, Billups was NBA Finals MVP 3 fucking years ago. Christ.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:00 PM is he theoretically our starting pg right now?
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:00 PM I hate to be pessimistic, but a small school undersized shooting guard who can't shoot that well...
Bust.
Cross 06-28-2007, 09:00 PM LOL
Washington has so many options and I'm not sold on STuckey yet..
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 09:00 PM I want Glenn Davis only so I can hear Blaha say "Big Baby"
damn i didnt know he was available. damn. ;(
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:01 PM Who is Rodney Stuckey?
"It's me"
Smart ass!
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:01 PM i like his confidence:
tirico: who is rodney stuckey?!
stucky (meekly): uhhh... thats me...?
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 09:01 PM I hate to be pessimistic, but a small school undersized shooting guard who can't shoot that well...
Bust.
But can drive wildly strong to the hole and out of control? sounds like a winner in the new nba.
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 09:02 PM Kind of a 'we shall see' pick.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:02 PM I hate to be pessimistic, but a small school undersized shooting guard who can't shoot that well...
Bust.
Actually, I retreat that comment on the note that I just realized that is what Dwyane Wade is. Except Wade probably shoots better from midrange...
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:02 PM BIG BABY FOR 27! FUCK IT!
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:02 PM washington takes jason smith.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 09:02 PM Actually, I retreat that comment on the note that I just realized that is what Dwyane Wade is. Except Wade probably shoots better from midrange...
he learned to. maybe this guy can too.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:03 PM We can only hope, my friend. We can only hope.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 09:03 PM BIG BABY FOR 27! FUCK IT!
i'm down for that unl;ess someone knows a better center available.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:04 PM Kryereer Fesenko! or whatever the fuck his name was...
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:04 PM 8/15. nj takes jason smith.
does washington really need more scoring?
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 09:04 PM We can only hope, my friend. We can only hope.
i dont care enough to hope. just seeing the good of his abilities. he looks like guy who could get benched by saunders for not shooting enough 3's. but Maybe not.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:04 PM Big Baby and Jason Maxiell = the combo least expected to eat babies.
darkobetterthanmelo 06-28-2007, 09:05 PM Stuckey's strength is his midrange game. I don't see all that many Dwyane Wade drives to the hole in that highlight film.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:06 PM Wow, that's cold of ESPN to do that to Nick Young.
Cross 06-28-2007, 09:06 PM I hope Nick Young comes a bust just to make me feel better.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:07 PM Two more guards?
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 09:07 PM zeke you slick bastard.
darkobetterthanmelo 06-28-2007, 09:08 PM Zach and Eddy? The only 600 pound frontcourt in the league!
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:08 PM You know, Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry's not too bad a combination.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:08 PM Frye/Aldridge/Oden in Portland? Pretty damn good young trio of big men.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 09:08 PM Stuckey's strength is his midrange game. I don't see all that many Dwyane Wade drives to the hole in that highlight film.
well lets hope he does do more wild injury people flop drives.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:08 PM incidentally, i did guarantee after the blazers drafted lamarcus aldridge that the blazers would trade randolph to the knicks. maybe i'll dig that up at work tomorrow for a tidy little pat on the back. i cant imagine anything being more predictable.
screaming A loves it. zeke loves it. who plays defense?
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:09 PM 'Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:09 PM PS somebody stop Screamin' A before he blows his vocal cords...
edit: on second thought, don't.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 09:09 PM You know, Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry's not too bad a combination.
gives you to legit low post scorers. teams who zone and double team might want to be careful.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:09 PM That would be a good thing, ray ray.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:10 PM Frye/Aldridge/Oden in Portland? Pretty damn good young trio of big men.
my bet is frye doesnt last. hes much inferior to the other 2. i'd much rather a banger off the bench than frye.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:10 PM Morris Almond here?
GSW probably would love to have another player to come in and shoot the lights out...
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:11 PM 8/16.
cook of the ohio state university to nelly's warriors.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:12 PM You're soon to be 8/17, I'd think. Could be wrong though.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:13 PM Dizzle, you got 2 on (runners on the corners) with nobody out in a 2 run game.
darkobetterthanmelo 06-28-2007, 09:13 PM Daequan Cook=Steven Jackson
Do it Nelly
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:14 PM You're soon to be 8/17, I'd think. Could be wrong though.
you gotta think outside the box with nelly. i'd have gone with a foreigner, but then i'd REALLY be talking out of my ass.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:14 PM Daequan Cook=Steven Jackson
Do it Nelly
Are you kidding? Not even close.
Was anybody besides me watching Daequan Cook suck ass the entire second half of last season? Couldn't shoot a lick.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:15 PM I knew it.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:16 PM Marco Belinelli! I knew it would be Almond or him. Another shooter.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:16 PM Behold, Jose Calderon 2.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:17 PM 8/17. lakers take... jason smith.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:18 PM Alando Tucker.
*shrug*
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:18 PM oh crap, they have bynum. lakers take crittenton.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:18 PM I can see Crittenton here, too.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:19 PM how is phil jackson a bigger cloud looming that kobe demanding out?
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:20 PM http://deadspin.com/assets/resources/2007/06/kobevideodudes.jpg
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:21 PM http://deadspin.com/assets/resources/2007/06/kobevideodudes.jpg
which one did kobe violate in exchange for hanging out w/ them for 2 minutes?
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:22 PM The girl in the background with the little kid.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:24 PM how am i 9/18 when that was pick 19? my guess is im 9/19 now.
miami takes: nick fazekas.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:26 PM I think Len Bias is the pick here.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:26 PM When does the summer league start? I need to see if this Stuckeybuns character matches the hype at all.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:28 PM How are we only getting in 10 picks an hour? Shut the fuck up, ESPN!
Should be 12!
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:29 PM "I know you want to screw me, so let's leave" - Mike Tirico to woman he was stalking in '92
Cross 06-28-2007, 09:29 PM Not a bad pick. I wonder what will happen to Wayne Simien
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:29 PM 9/20. josh mcroberts from duke.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:30 PM Smith, from those few highlights, reminds me a little of Pau Gasol...
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:30 PM Let's try this again...Taurean Green.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:31 PM mitch kupchuck, you are on borrowed time. are these the darkest days *EVER* for the LA lakers?
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:31 PM Mitch Kupchak sounds like he's been smoking out of nervousness due to this Kobe mess.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:32 PM mitch kupchuck, you are on borrowed time. are these the darkest days *EVER* for the LA lakers?
LMFAO.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:32 PM Lol, this is why I love Jim Gray. Trying to get Kupchak to tamper.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:33 PM yea, its like you can hear the thoughts "keep composure. keep composure..." coming out of his head.
poison pills? who has that in his contract other than kobe? mitch: "whoops, shouldnt have said that".
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:34 PM Still wondering who in the hell Ivan McFarlin is...
Cross 06-28-2007, 09:34 PM yea, its like you can hear the thoughts "keep composure. keep composure..." coming out of his head.
poison pills? who has that in his contract other than kobe? mitch: "whoops, shouldnt have said that".
Kirk Hinrich does......
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:35 PM I don't know about that deal... What are "cash considerations" really worth these days?
For us, I can't really see us taking Petteri Koponen anymore. Fesenko? Big Baby?!
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:36 PM We'd probably be in the top 10 still if this was the NFL draft...
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:36 PM would have guessed jason smith to philly, oh well. 9/22.
nick fazekas to charlotte.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:38 PM Charlotte selects Morris Almond.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:38 PM who?
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:39 PM Morris Almond, ya cunt.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:39 PM is it just me or is aaran gray staring us down at #27?
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:39 PM Morris Almond, ya cunt.
never heard of him.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:40 PM Alando.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:41 PM Didn't see that one coming... Could turn out to be a good pick though.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:42 PM 9/22.
did ny keep the pick? if so, supposedly theyre taking wilson chandler. if they do, and he works out, my hats off to zeke. i saw him live and he did not scream nba.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:43 PM Lisa Salters...I'd hit it.
Cross 06-28-2007, 09:43 PM Yeah he is supposedly a really smart player. Didn't think he'd be taken so high....more to a #27....
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:43 PM Yeah, I've heard Wilson Chandler here as well.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:43 PM Did he call him Shannon Frye?
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:44 PM is spike buzzed or is he always that way?
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:44 PM Lol at that pic of Isiah.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:46 PM Anybody else here think Stern WON'T call the Suns' draft pick?
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:46 PM 10/23. good luck with that zeke.
phx takes josh mcR.
or more likely they sell it.
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:49 PM Good god Portland.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:49 PM WTF??? Now people are just giving firsts away?
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:50 PM does portland really need more youth?
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:50 PM Might as well, it's not like they gave up a vet in the process...
Timone 06-28-2007, 09:51 PM Rudy Fernandez is the pick here.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:51 PM WTF??? Now people are just giving firsts away?
this is nothing new for phx. they sold the rights to deng.
gotta hand it to them, they have assetts on top of assetts. if their was no roster spot limit and no salary implications. phx would have most of the good players in the league.
Uncle Mxy 06-28-2007, 09:51 PM I didn't think Portland got enough, but if either Frye or Francis recovers from their funks...
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 09:52 PM I wanted us to get Rudy at 27.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 09:53 PM even though i called the sell of the pick, 10/24. utah picks whitey from duke.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 09:54 PM Nah, we already took our SG with Stuckey. I have to think we'll go PG (Koponen) or C (Fesenko, Davis, or Gray) with 27. I don't know if there's any SF's I'm interested in left.
The Irony 06-28-2007, 10:00 PM tiago splitter would piss me off
i like mcroberts > that guy from nevada
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 10:01 PM I just don't see us going PF here... Sheed, Maxiell, Amir....
darkobetterthanmelo 06-28-2007, 10:03 PM gonna be koponen at 27
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 10:03 PM im thinking aaran gray. i wouldnt be upset. project center at the end of 1st round. what else are you expecting?
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 10:04 PM More than that, because I can damn near guarantee you that Gray will be next to nothing in the NBA.
Only 5 mins now...
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 10:05 PM aaranbrooks? isnt this off the board?
10/26. aaran gray.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 10:06 PM More than that, because I can damn near guarantee you that Gray will be next to nothing in the NBA.
Only 5 mins now...
maybe so, but dont we need to address center? what else are we going to do?
Timone 06-28-2007, 10:06 PM How is Bonzi Wells still a Rocket when he was crying like a little girl about disrupting the team chemistry?
Tahoe 06-28-2007, 10:07 PM Go big
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 10:07 PM I'd rather go the Euro route if we draft a center... I think Fesenko was his name. But I think we'll go Koponen here.
b-diddy 06-28-2007, 10:10 PM how bout mentioning the pistons for ten seconds, guys. no one cares how stupid sam presti is.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 10:11 PM No shit... Not to mention the guy looks like he's 43 when he's 30. Ouch.
Timone 06-28-2007, 10:11 PM HOWEVA!
Sorry, just had to. I get the urge every time Stephen talks.
