Another sad WWE ending.
Cross 06-25-2007, 10:13 PM FUCK! just beat me to it.
Yeah this hurts. I love watching Benoit wrestle, his heart and determination.
Eddie and Benoit were good friends too.
RIP Benoit and his family.
Rumors are he and his family have been murdered
Looks like Benoit murdered his family, what a sick Bastard. Most likely he was trying to create an alibi to eliminate himself as a suspect that is why the deaths occurred at different times. However he either he was overcome with guilt and shame or didn't want to go to jail so he went home to off himself.

The station says investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and the boy, Daniel, sometime over the weekend, and then himself sometime today. A concerned neighbor called police.
DennyMcLain 06-26-2007, 02:29 AM Egg on WWE's face, with the whole murder storyline of Mr. McMahon. The best thing to do, really, is to have Mcmahon show up on Friday and explain fiction from reality.
In a sick way, Benoit's demise just saved WWE from perhaps it's worst storyline.
Timone 06-26-2007, 08:24 AM I am absolutely stunned. I mean I don't watch wrestling but I loved Benoit when I did.
DrRay11 06-26-2007, 08:34 AM Same here. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a double murder/suicide like they are saying now... I thought Benoit was a good guy.
Cross 06-26-2007, 08:43 AM Yeah so did I. No way he's a murderer. Doesnt have the attitude of one
Timone 06-26-2007, 08:45 AM I've been reading on another message board that a carbon monoxide leak could be the cause. Benoit apparently sent text messages to the WWE stating that he, his wife, and son had fallen ill to something.
The just said on CNN headline news that he strangled his wife, smothered his son and hung himself in the weight room. All three were found in different rooms.
MoTown 06-26-2007, 01:04 PM WTF would cause anyone to do that? Roid rage?
DrRay11 06-26-2007, 01:05 PM Wow, that sucks. I too wonder what caused the rampage.
Vince McMahon seems to be regretting his choice of programming last night. All of the tribute stuff is gone from the front page of the website. Plus as the info comes out it looks like they paid tribute to a seedy part of society.
I think this should make people think twice about paying tribute before all the details are in. However I can't blame McMahon for canceling the event he caught hell when he failed to cancel an event when Owen hart died.
This is the second time that tribute has been paid the last couples of months to people whose actions/deaths didn't warrant praise. The Cards Hancock was a Saint until details came out then everybody called him a troubled soul. Now Benoit. I noticed when Rod Beck died ESPN learned from the Hancock situation they mentioned he was fighting demons the last few years to cover their asses.
WTF would cause anyone to do that? Roid rage?
The tox screen will show steroids if he used, so Vince better hope he was clean if not expect serious scrutiny along with PR nightmares because this will blow back to him.
In the past the hard living, drug abuse and steroid abuse killed only the wrestlers too young but if this can be linked to roids, it will be crippling to WWE. If roids show up, the media will say a quiet, family man turned into a monster because them even if there is no conclusive link to rage.
EDIT... According to reports anabolic steroids were found, however he had a "legal" prescription for them wink wink.
Tahoe 06-26-2007, 05:05 PM At least the piece of shit killed himself after smothering his wife and son.
WWE is in complete spin mode, which sickens me. They are saying Benoit committed this crime with a clear head therefore the actions were calculated and deliberate not the actions of a man in rage.
I don't understand why they feel the need to even say anything outside of wishes of sympathy and patience. To go into spin mode less than 24 hours later is an act of a guilty organization, which knows they don't police their employees or look out for their well being in order to prevent tragedy.
Believe me I blame only Benoit for this but, in the same breath Vince needs to get rid of Roids if he wants to keep making money. Too many guys have died too young because they aren't held to be accountable, and if they are held accountable Vince drops them at their most desperate hour and hangs them out to dry.
Timone 06-26-2007, 08:51 PM Vince is addressing the Benoit tribute on that ECW show.
http://tvweek.com/news/2007/06/mcmahon_to_apologize_for_benoi.php
This is still the most shocking thing that's happened to me as a fan, being a pro wrestling fan all of my life (regardless of the fact I'm not anymore). And believe me when I say Benoit was truly one of my favorites, he was the lasting image of my favorite wrestler of all time, Bret Hart, IMO.
I havent watched wrestling for 20 years... but is that the guy who has been in the Subway commercials?
Timone 06-26-2007, 09:18 PM No I think that's Marky Mark.
DrRay11 06-26-2007, 09:18 PM No, that was/is John Cena.
Cross 06-27-2007, 02:19 AM The just said on CNN headline news that he strangled his wife, smothered his son and hung himself in the weight room. All three were found in different rooms.
That's just scary
The WWE is pretty much fucked. They're losing the good old guys who took steroids and is pretty much left with shit.
I just can not beleive Benoit would do this:emo kid:
Black Dynamite 06-27-2007, 02:25 AM No, that was/is John Cena.
same thing and marky mark. apples and oranges
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 06:00 PM For the conspiracy theory person in all of us.
Nancy Benoit Death On Net Before Bodies Were Found
An anonymous user operating a computer traced to Stamford, Conn. — home to World Wrestling Entertainment — posted an entry to pro wrestler Chris Benoit's biography on Wikipedia.org announcing the death of his wife Nancy about 14 hours before police in suburban Atlanta said they found her body along with her husband's and that of their 7-year-old son, FOXNews.com has learned.
Employees at Wikipedia.com said the posting went live on their site on Monday at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Police, however, said they found the bodies Monday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
Wikipedia.org's computers are set to record Standard and Universal Time, a spokesman told FOXNews.com.
The posting reads: “Chris Benoit was replaced by [[Johnny Nitro]] for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.”
The posting was apparently made in reference to Benoit's scheduled appearance on Sunday night at an Extreme Championship Wrestling event in Texas, with the last phrase noted in red to indicate an edit made to the original entry.
An employee from Wikipedia.org told FOXNews.com that he called and left a message with investigative authorities in Fayetteville, Ga., at around 11 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, after the posting was brought to the attention of the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Web site.
“I chat with other editors on IRC -- Internet relay chat -- and somebody pointed it out to me on a relay chat and that it came from a Stamford connection, and that it took place at midnight Eastern Standard Time on Monday morning, ” said Wikipedia.org volunteer coordinator Cary Bass. “I called and left a message with the police department.”
The computer-generated time and date stamp of the Benoit entry are listed as 4:01, 25 June 2007. Wikipedia.org lists its entries according to Universal Time, also known as Greenwich Mean Time.
A message left by FOXNews.com with Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department was not immediately returned.
Investigators so far have ruled the Benoit killings as a double homicide-suicide.
Wikipedia.org claims to be one of the largest reference Web sites, and is written collaboratively by users from around the world. Approved users can make submissions and change entries that are posted on the site almost immediately. Bass said the site is constantly monitored to correct inaccuracies.
Bass said when there is a high-profile case, such as the Benoit killlings, Wikipedia.org limits postings to registered users, which is now indicated at the top of the Benoit entry. According to the listed history on the Benoit entry, the computer used to post the 12:01 a.m. entry had a Stamford, Conn., Internet Protocol — or IP — address, a numeric designation that is assigned to every computer with an Internet connection, and that same address has been used to post about a dozen other messages on the site, dating back to May 16, 2007.
FOXNews.com also has learned, through widely posted Web reports, that former pro wrestler Sherri Martel, who was found dead on June 15, was linked to former wrestler Kevin Sullivan — ex-husband of Nancy Benoit.
Martel, who had a reputation as one of the top managers in pro wrestling, was found dead at her mother’s home in near Birmingham, Ala., on June 15. She was 49.
Investigators, who have not yet determined Martel's cause of death, say foul play is not suspected but that Martel did not die of natural causes.

Timone 06-28-2007, 06:07 PM I think it was a controlled demolition.
But seriously though, wow.
DrRay11 06-28-2007, 06:14 PM Hmmmmm.... Juicy.
Black Dynamite 06-28-2007, 07:23 PM juicier
Kevin Sullivan has a son, Benjamin Kevin Sullivan, who was born in 1979. In 1985, Sullivan married Nancy Daus (née Toffoloni), his valet. In the mid-1990s, Sullivan, the then World Championship Wrestling booker, scripted a storyline in which Daus would leave him in favor of his on-screen rival, Chris Benoit. During the execution of the storyline, Daus legitimately left Sullivan in favour of Benoit, divorcing Sullivan in 1997 and marrying Benoit in 2000. [2]
Timone 06-28-2007, 07:35 PM Yeah, I remember that, Sullivan/Benoit had great matches.
So are we going with the "Strangers on a Train" theory, ignoring the fact that Benoit and Sullivan aren't strangers?
If so does that mean Benoit did his part killing Martel, but Sullivan screwed up and forced Benoit to come home blowing his alibi and causing him to kill his son and self to avoid jail?
WTFchris 07-17-2007, 04:21 PM Steroids, other drugs found in bodies of wrestler, wife, son
ESPN Link (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=2939837)
Tahoe 07-17-2007, 06:08 PM What a gem of a father and husband. I can't say whether he was always a pos or just lost it at the end, but at the end he was totally a pos.
Timone 07-18-2007, 01:52 AM I was talking to someone who is a huge wrestling fan and we were talking about this whole Benoit situation. I said I'm never going to remember Benoit the same way again, and the dude said he would. Yeah, I guess it's OK to give child killers a free pass just because he was a good pro wrestler/actor.
WTFchris 07-18-2007, 09:08 AM I could see his point of view if Beniot had simply roid raged and killed himself. But to inject his family with drugs and kill them? You can't simply turn a blind eye to that.
Zip Goshboots 07-18-2007, 11:19 AM I just wonder how this will affect my "Fantasy Wrestling Team", cuz I had just traded for Benoit.
BTW, I'm looking forward to next year's "WTF Detroit Mock Fantasy Wrestling Draft".
Glenn 07-18-2007, 11:26 AM I got dibs on Mr. Wrestling #2.

Timone 07-18-2007, 12:32 PM I'm taking Stan "The Man" Hansen.
