View Full Version : Trade idea: Haywood for Nazr
Zekyl 06-25-2007, 03:02 PM Straight up, Haywood for Nazr. We want to ditch Nazr because he never fit in with our team. They want to ditch Haywood because he had problems with Etan Thomas and Eddie Jordan. I think its worth a shot. He makes a little less than Nazr (but close enough to make the trade) and he's younger.
WTFchris 06-25-2007, 03:08 PM Not only does he make less, his contract has one less year on it. I would definately do it.
Glenn 06-25-2007, 03:12 PM Yes please.
Take a 2nd round pick if you need it.

Agreed, give them one of the picks we got in the Delfino deal or something.

Glenn 06-25-2007, 09:13 PM Somebody get Joe on the phone...
Cross 06-26-2007, 09:52 AM Talent wise, Haywood doesn't really thrill me but the trade overall would be better for many reasons.
Uncle Mxy 06-26-2007, 11:40 PM I posted this trade several weeks ago. I like it as much now as I did then.
Zekyl 11-26-2007, 04:33 PM MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Daviticus 2.39 11-27-2007, 12:58 PM But it won't. Nobody wants Nazr...
Zekyl 11-27-2007, 01:38 PM So I'm watching the big10 network. Mateen Cleeves is on the bench with a bum foot, screaming directions to his team as BRENDAN HAYWOOD controls the glass and owns the paint. Just thought I'd share.
metr0man 11-28-2007, 01:58 PM You guys realize it takes two teams to make a trade, right?
I mean, if we could just foist trades on others, how about Flip Murray for Lebron? Somebody get Joe D on the phone!!!
Zekyl 11-28-2007, 02:04 PM Over the summer this seemed like a legit possibility. At this point we all know getting him for any combination of Nazr, Flip, and a 2nd round pick is just a dream.
Glenn 11-28-2007, 02:14 PM Haywood's situation has changed quite a bit since this was first "proposed".
The conflict with Etan Thomas took care of itself when ET's ribs had to be split open.
Haywood's solid play has made him less likely to be moved as well, but Andray Blatche might make this a bit more interesting at some point in the near future, too.
Zekyl 11-28-2007, 02:17 PM I'd still like to see this, or something like this with us picking up a not so old center who's got a bit of game, happen sometime this season. The thing I liked most about the Haywood idea was that he doesn't play PF, so he won't be stealing minutes from Max and Amir, both of whom only play PF. He'll take on Nazr's minutes and maybe keep Sheed and McDyess's minutes down a bit, which is always good.
Glenn 01-12-2008, 08:13 AM C Brendan Haywood started for the Wizards but spent most of the night on the bench. He played only 11 minutes, scoring 2 points. Every other starter played at least 40 minutes
Could we get Haywood for Murray and other expirings?
Glenn 01-12-2008, 08:18 AM Ah, nevermind, I'm guessing that Billy D wouldn't want to take on any future salary.
He's probably digging those expiring deals.
Cross 01-12-2008, 08:33 AM Andray Blatche got his share of minutes that game.
With etan Thomas getting closer to coming back( or am i completely off?), I would suspect haywood would be rumored in a few trade talks, mostly for expirings so they could resign agent zero
Uncle Mxy 01-12-2008, 08:57 AM Flip + Brezec + Toronto 2nd rounder for Haywood -- make it happen Joe!
Glenn 01-12-2008, 09:05 AM Flip + Brezec + Toronto 2nd rounder for Haywood -- make it happen Joe!
That's actually a pretty realistic deal, if "we" were willing to take on Haywood's contract.
Flip and Brezec would go right into their rotation.
Cross 01-12-2008, 09:47 AM For the playoffs. Maybe they'd resign them for cheap but that doesn't really concern any of us.
except for maybe glenn because he'd still watch flip's 4th quarter slaughters.
Zekyl 01-12-2008, 12:14 PM I am 100% behind this, mostly because I was the one advocating bringing Haywood here in the first place.
